Property Description

Established in 2000 as one of Prague’s first hostels, Hostel Elf maintains its eventful vibe and keeps floating on the waves of a real backpackers mood. Our biggest pride belongs to our terrace patio and common room where you can chill out with other travelers. To enhance one’s communication abilities, we sell Czech beer at the 24/7 reception.
We are a totally independent hostel, all of the staff are employed full time, they have a great knowledge of the local area with good recommendations of local bars, parks and landmarks.

The interior is decorated with modern art paintings and the outside terrace has mural graffiti artworks. If you are artistically gifted, or just an art enthusiast, you can beautify part of our fence with your national symbols or the flag of your country. We have over eighty of them hanged here with the best ones being Canada and South Africa so far.
The music played is mostly reggae, punk rock, drum and bass and old-school hip hop depending on the shift and weather.
Looking forward having you!

Hostel Elf is a charming hostel in the district of Zizkov, It has an alternative vibe with a friendly atmosphere, full of like minded travelers.
Included in your stay is free buffet breakfast, unlimited coffee + tea and a free BBQ.

Please note that we do not permit guests age 40 and over to stay in our dorm rooms but you are more than welcome to stay in private rooms. Thanks for understanding. View House Rules

I've been at Elf 3y ago and it's still one of my favourite hostels of all time. Location is great, rooms and cleanliness top level, the atmosphere is always friendly and welcoming. Great kitchen and facilities, free breakfast everyday and it's full of options, you also have free dinner, happy hour and other activities depending on the days of the week. Awesome terrace and chill out area, great to meet people! All the staff is friendly and helpful, but Honza and Matt are just the best! Tks guys!

Best hostel I’ve stayed at so far. The bedrooms, showers, and bathrooms all have an abundance of room compared to other places I’ve stayed. Staff was friendly and helpful. They gave us lots of advice on where to go and what to see. We were a 20min walk from the City Center and a 5min Uber so not far from anything. And Barfud right around the corner was easy access to good food a drink.

We got in earlier than check-in and took a nap on the couch and then locked our luggage in the luggage room so we could explore the city. We came back to the hostel, checked-in and had a very comfortable stay in the private triple room. The hostel was affordable with many social opportunities if wanted, but it never got too loud and didn't impact our sleep (we slept very soundly). The atmosphere was cool and funky! Highly recommend! Also very close to both train stations!

A little far away from the touristy places but really close to the bus/train station and everything is pretty much in walking distance. The staff are super friendly, the rooms are nice, and the free breakfast is a big plus.

Great hostel, met with a smile and friendly, helpful advice for my stay in Prague, comfy beds with curtains for privacy, great location to the city and other sights nearby, free breakfast was simply bit tasty and satisfying. Used the baggage locker for day storage which was a huge help on the day checked out. Great place, very much enjoyed my stay.

Very good hostel to stay. The breakfast is okay. The common room allows many interactions with other guests. The location is 20 mins walk from old quarter, 15 mins walk from bus terminal. And in front of the hostel you can also find a bus station. The wifi is great. And the bedroom is clean. The staff is also nice and helpful.

Lovely hostel very close to the central train and bus stations! It's a nice walk to the old town and felt very safe getting to/from there. Breakfast was nice and was able to make lunch for myself there. Kitchen equipped with what you need to make basic meals but not a lot of spices to choose from. Good security-door code and key card and lockers in rooms.

It's a nice hostel, 30min walk to city centre. The staff are really nice and helpful, the breakfast is nice. My only problem was it was hard to meet people. ( I did have a 7 dorm bedroom and there was mostly 2 other guys in my room who didn't speak English).

Very friendly and helpful staff at this hostel! Nice atmosphere and vibe. Unfortunately, I was staying at a time when a lot of large groups were checking in, so I found it more difficult to seek out other solo travelers. Good location - just a short walk to the city center. Awesome park with great views located right behind the hostel. I would definitely stay here again!

Hostel ELF says

We've run this hostel for 12 years so I think we're still one of the 'real' backpackers' hostels, not just a hotel-style place made to look like a hostel. Eighty percent of the beds in our hostel are in dorms. Our hostel is also a small gallery, full of unique underground art by young Czech artists. Each spacious room has original decor. Along with our free breakfast, in the summer we offer free BBQs three times a week; in the winter we do free dinners and pasta night. We also sell cheap beer (70 cents for 0.5L) and we offer free tea and coffee all day long. It's ideal for real backpackers travelling around the world.
I recommend that people visit the Palac Akropolis. It's known as a centre of cultural events in the area. Hana, Manager
