You can start your day with free delicious all-you-can-eat buffet breakfast which relieve you even from the deadliest hangover.
Hot drinks are served 24 / 7 for free. You can enjoy your meals outside on the terrace, calm and partially shaded by trees, it is also the perfect spot for late night BBQ’s.

In our fully equipped kitchen you can proove your cooking skills, no matter you need to make Sunday roast or just to warm up a soggy kebab from last night.

Established in 2000 as one of Prague’s first hostels, Hostel Elf maintains its eventful vibe and keeps floating on the waves of a real backpackers mood. Our biggest pride belongs to our terrace patio and common room where you can chill out with other travelers. To enhance one’s communication abilities, we sell Czech beer at the 24/7 reception.
We are a totally independent hostel, all of the staff are employed full time, they have a great knowledge of the local area with good recommendations of local bars, parks and landmarks.

The interior is decorated with modern art paintings and the outside terrace has mural graffiti artworks. If you are artistically gifted, or just an art enthusiast, you can beautify part of our fence with your national symbols or the flag of your country. We have over eighty of them hanged here with the best ones being Canada and South Africa so far.
The music played is mostly reggae, punk rock, drum and bass and old-school hip hop depending on the shift and weather.
Looking forward having you!

Hostel Elf is a charming hostel in the district of Zizkov, It has an alternative vibe with a friendly atmosphere, full of like minded travelers.
Included in your stay is free buffet breakfast, unlimited coffee + tea and a free BBQ.

Please note that we do not permit guests age 40 and over to stay in our dorm rooms but you are more than welcome to stay in private rooms. Thanks for understanding. View House Rules

Stayed here with a group of 7 people and had the best time it’s a great location which is a short walk away from the trams which run all day and night. The hostel was great, friendly staff and the atmosphere was amazing the outside area allows you to meet all the other people in the hostel. Would definitely recommend anyone travelling to Prague to stay here.

This is an excellent hostel. Super close to the main train station and only a 10-15 minute walk from the old town center. The common areas are awesome and you can buy beer from the receptionist. Oh and the beer is dirt cheap.

ELF was great and I’ll definitely go back. I’m a fan of the secured gate and the large outdoor patio. Also they have amazingly priced happy hour beer. It’s a good sized hostel and you can make friends if you want. I didn’t eat the breakfast but my friends did and they liked it. I would recommend!

    Very Good

A hostel for the younger crowd. Perfect for smaller groups, but would maybe pick another one if you're solo traveller. The hostels lacked cozy indoor seating, might be a problem in the colder months. Staff were open and friendly. The location is great if you're arrive/depart via the bus terminal, but the neighbourhood is not really interesting at it takes 25/30 minutes to walk to the city center. Picked the hostel for it's close distance to the bus terminal, which was all fine for one night.

Only go here if you’re a dude wanting to chill with other dudes. It was very separated men and women socially the whole stay (4 nights) and difficult to join in as a woman or couple.

    Good

I enjoyed the hostel's environment overall, however the cleanliness in the rooms was unacceptable. The first night I arrived, there was blood crusted onto my mattress cover. I was moved into a bed in a different room where I got bedbugs, and received 20+ large, uncomfortable, and clearly visible bites. I was moved again and the staff washed my laundry for me. However, they refused to issue a refund for that night. I understand that bedbugs sometimes happen, but bedbugs AND blood...? Not ok

Hostel ELF says

We've run this hostel for 12 years so I think we're still one of the 'real' backpackers' hostels, not just a hotel-style place made to look like a hostel. Eighty percent of the beds in our hostel are in dorms. Our hostel is also a small gallery, full of unique underground art by young Czech artists. Each spacious room has original decor. Along with our free breakfast, in the summer we offer free BBQs three times a week; in the winter we do free dinners and pasta night. We also sell cheap beer (70 cents for 0.5L) and we offer free tea and coffee all day long. It's ideal for real backpackers travelling around the world.
I recommend that people visit the Palac Akropolis. It's known as a centre of cultural events in the area. Hana, Manager
