Great hostel for location, it is zero luxury but is clean and comfy beds. Staff is also very kind. It has kitchen which helps a lot. The only bad things is that they don't provide towels, shampoo, soaps so don't forget to bring it with you.

    Very Good

Our room was BLAZING HOT. In the 80s. Outside (70 degree weather) was cooler. There is no air flow in or out of the rooms and the air condition is of course not turned on. We got a fan from the front desk, but it was miserable if you weren't sitting directly in front of it. We nearly bit the bullet and paid to stay somewhere else. Our stay was short though so we suffered. Definitely wouldnt have stayed if we had to sleep for 3 or more nights. All in all it's a cheap place to stay in the heart

Had to knock on the door of the check in employee (3:10 pm) 4x before she woke up. Unfriendly & seemed annoyed. Rug in our room was filthy. I asked about having it vacuumed she told me the vacuum didn’t really work & seemed irritated that I would ask. Bedding & bed bug protectors were disgustingly stained & bathroom was dirty. Have stayed in many hostels & enjoy the low maintenance vibe, however, that does not mean an unclean/unsanitary environment. Super unfortunate. Great location and set up.

Unpleasant staff, bed bugs in the beds (we got at least 20 bites), toilet in the kitchen, towels are paid extra. Avoid.

Dirty, dusty, & only looked a little like what I saw online. My room had a hole in the ceiling, but the bed was comfortable enough-except for the BED BUGS. I saw 1 in my bed, thought it was a tick, & showed a staff member whose solution was to give me new sheets. A week later, I was sitting pretty with well over 200 bug bites all over my body(64 on one arm alone). Getting rid of the ones I brought home cost me $600 & they still haven't responded to my email. PS-read the Google reviews 1st.

The hostel is well located. Bur it feels more like a shelter than a hostel. Is really dirty, staff is unfriendly. Other guests are mostly locals with no home, that don't say hi or are willing to have a conversation with you. It feels unsafe. Its sad that a place with potential and good location ends up like a shelter. The website would not even have this hostel in their San Diego options.
