Hostel Internacional Campo Base is a buzzy hub for backpackers in the middle of Mendoza. Travellers gravitate towards our bar and lounge, which are both social spots with bags of friendly atmosphere. We love to throw parties and dinners (empanada and wine night, anyone?) where you can hang out with your bunk buddies. We're great for your budget – our tours and trips are discounted for Hostelworld guests and we throw in free Wi-Fi and free breakfast.

You'll find us right on the edge of Plaza Independencia in the middle of Mendoza and you can walk from the hostel to just about anywhere in the city. We're a ten-minute stroll from the sights and mouthwatering scents of Mercado Central, where you'll find handcrafted souvenirs as well as local delicacies like churrasco (grilled meat) to try. Uco Valley, site of the wineries that make this region so famous, is about an hour's drive away. From Mendoza International Airport it takes about 40 minutes to reach us by bus. Walk eight minutes to stop Doctor Pose 2301 and get the 300 bus to Avenida Sarmiento 602 – we're a six-minute walk from there.

Rooms and Dorms

We've got private rooms, some of which have en-suites, and dorms with shared bathrooms. You'll have free sheets – great if you're travelling light – and a locker to store your backpack. Bunks have individual reading lights so you won't disturb your roommates if you fancy staying up late.

Extras and activities

We use our barbecue and guest kitchen on the regular to lay on group dinners. And we have bike parking if you've rented a ride to explore Mendoza's high-altitude scenery. Whether you're into skydiving and abseiling or wine-tasting and horse riding, staff on our tour and travel desk can give you tips and book trips. Staying out late? To help you feel safe, we have security at night.

We had an absolutely fantastic time at the hostel! Whilst there, me and my partner got engaged after horse trekking in the sunset (organised by the hostel) and when we got back Juan and the rest of the hostel team celebrated with us with wine and games 😊! Really fun hostel, great place to make friends and the BBQ is out of this world! Would definitely stay again

Awesome hostel, the employees/volunteers make your stay unique. Great vibe, every night is a fair priced dinner with all inc wine. Price/value absolutely unbeatable. Very comfy bed. Breakfast very simple, but included. You can use a fully equipped kitchen. The house seems quite old and it doesnt feel always 100% clean (probably due to the age), however they clean it often. They have a bit a chaos with their lundry service. All in all an awesome hostel!

Keep in mind that this is a party hostel. That being said, the hostel is right where you need to be in the city for virtually everything. About a 1.2km walk from the bus station makes it accessible too. Breakfast is a nice addition as well. Beds were comfy, but if you're wanting to be in bed at 11pm for a big day the next day, I'd think differently.

Great staff, very accommodating. Good range of tours and they do lots of food and subs nights to accommodate everyone. Facilities are a little tired but very good price and well located. Great option for a stay in Mendoza if you are looking for a party hostel

Great vibe for a hostel. The people and staff were incredibly social for activities. Go with the flow because "organised events" may not be too organised

    Very Good

Pros: Really friendly and helpful staff, who were keen to get to know you and created a social atmosphere - good at organising great events: 2 times a week there is a delicious Asado with bottomless Malbec. Did our laundry for free, and gave loads of tips for seeing the wineries etc. Cons: Rooms were small, cramped and the sheets aren’t big enough for the mattresses so they always come off which is unpleasant. Quite dark everywhere and the breakfast isn’t great. Showers are really narrow.

    Very Good

    14 Feb 2020
The hostel is well located right by the main square making it easy to get around. It offers good free breakfast with croissants and coffee etc, kitchen also for cooking but not the cleanest and most pots don’t have handles! There’s a good atmosphere and they organise nice social things but often the music which is loud starts at 9/10am. Room was quite small hardly any room to move, but bed was comfy-however sheets weren’t fitted so kept sliding off.

This hostel is great location and the staff are really amazing, however the actual hostel is probably the most rundown we've ever stayed in. Pillow and mattress were unbearable to sleep in, rooms ridiculously hot and just very very run down and we are not fussy travelers. A little money needs to be invested here just to make it comfortable to a basic level

Feels like a party hostel but without any atmosphere. The staff are friendly, but the facilities need to be properly cleaned (there were dirty towels and underwear in the bathrooms for days) and the air-con doesn’t work.
