Overview

Hostel Internacional Campo Base is a buzzy hub for backpackers in the middle of Mendoza. Travellers gravitate towards our bar and lounge, which are both social spots with bags of friendly atmosphere. We love to throw parties and dinners (empanada and wine night, anyone?) where you can hang out with your bunk buddies. We're great for your budget – our tours and trips are discounted for Hostelworld guests and we throw in free Wi-Fi and free breakfast.

Location

You'll find us right on the edge of Plaza Independencia in the middle of Mendoza and you can walk from the hostel to just about anywhere in the city. We're a ten-minute stroll from the sights and mouthwatering scents of Mercado Central, where you'll find handcrafted souvenirs as well as local delicacies like churrasco (grilled meat) to try. Uco Valley, site of the wineries that make this region so famous, is about an hour's drive away. From Mendoza International Airport it takes about 40 minutes to reach us by bus. Walk eight minutes to stop Doctor Pose 2301 and get the 300 bus to Avenida Sarmiento 602 – we're a six-minute walk from there.

Rooms and Dorms

We've got private rooms, some of which have en-suites, and dorms with shared bathrooms. You'll have free sheets – great if you're travelling light – and a locker to store your backpack. Bunks have individual reading lights so you won't disturb your roommates if you fancy staying up late.

Extras and activities

We use our barbecue and guest kitchen on the regular to lay on group dinners. And we have bike parking if you've rented a ride to explore Mendoza's high-altitude scenery. Whether you're into skydiving and abseiling or wine-tasting and horse riding, staff on our tour and travel desk can give you tips and book trips. Staying out late? To help you feel safe, we have security at night.

Super helpful staff and friendly vibes all around. Excellent weekly activities for those who haven't planned anything (we did everything on our own, but heard good reviews from those that went on the hostel's trips). Daily BBQ or dinners/wine. Very excellent location right next to Plaza Independencia... everything is so close by. Fast Wifi, clean facilities, great kitchen, no problems. Would recommend to anyone!

YOU WILL HAVE FUN HERE! Amazing staff, location, activities and atmosphere. Probably not for you if you’re looking for luxury - but at this price point the value for money is fantastic. Much love to Nico (x2), Bruno, Fantine and Carlos!

I send my warmest recommendations for this amazing group of staff, making sure everyone at this hostel is having an unforgettable time in Mendoza. Whether that is venturing to the mountains, biking around the wineries, hitting the bars or just hanging out with complementary wine at the hostel, the staff is creating a truly inclusive atmosphere where everyone interacts with one another and feel welcome. It's great for a party, but you can also easily chill out if you finally had too much.

Awesome hostel, the employees/volunteers make your stay unique. Great vibe, every night is a fair priced dinner with all inc wine. Price/value absolutely unbeatable. Very comfy bed. Breakfast very simple, but included. You can use a fully equipped kitchen. The house seems quite old and it doesnt feel always 100% clean (probably due to the age), however they clean it often. They have a bit a chaos with their lundry service. All in all an awesome hostel!

Very social hostal! They have free wine every night, easy to meet people, friendly staff! Dorm room was very hot, no aircon. Hostel offers all tours, we did the horseback riding which was really good. Did the wine tour ourselves - staff can help with this. Had laundry done here but a few items were lost! Staff had no idea when I asked them about it.

Great staff, very accommodating. Good range of tours and they do lots of food and subs nights to accommodate everyone. Facilities are a little tired but very good price and well located. Great option for a stay in Mendoza if you are looking for a party hostel

Great location, met so many great people and good food. Staff were friendly and helpful and gave us unlimited wine most nights which was amazing. Do not stay here if you want somewhere clean, quiet and with an air conditioner as this is not the place for you. But if you want a fun place to meet awesome travellers then definitely stay here.

    Very Good

    14 Feb 2020
The hostel is well located right by the main square making it easy to get around. It offers good free breakfast with croissants and coffee etc, kitchen also for cooking but not the cleanest and most pots don’t have handles! There’s a good atmosphere and they organise nice social things but often the music which is loud starts at 9/10am. Room was quite small hardly any room to move, but bed was comfy-however sheets weren’t fitted so kept sliding off.

Staying in this place is like being part of a little community, the staff are all lovely and it’s generally a good, fun crowd. The whole place is quite tired and showers/toilets aren’t the best so if you rate cleanliness highly maybe this place isn’t for you. Empanadas and wine, excellent!
