Valladolid is a small and calm Mayan and colonial city of 70.000 inhabitants. It is located in the north centre of the Yucatan Peninsula, only 30 minutes away from the monumental Mayan ruins of Chichn Itz.. It is a good base to rest after visiting the Mayan zone and its authentic cultural expressions. Valladolid and the region around it have some of the deepest and most spectacular natural wells (cenotes) of the Yucatan Peninsula.

An old, large colonial house, is located in Parque La Candelaria, 3 blocks from the bus-station and 2.5 blocks from the Central Park.

In a safe and familiar atmosphere, it is the home that you need to enjoy your vacations calmly. The staff are the owners. The inner patio, with its natural garden and exotic trees, offers a great space for you to cook, eat and have a siesta in the hammocks, next to the birds song.

We provide dormitories and private rooms, a completely equipped kitchen, cable- television, board games, bicycles for rent, uo-to-date tourist information and of course the colonial Parque La Candelaria just in front of the hostel.

Other attractions in and around Valladolid:

In addition to the wonderful archaeological site of Chichn Itz, the ruins of 'Ek Balam', located to 29 km, and 'Cob' to 59km. Cenotes (underground rivers in caves): 'Dzitnup', to 20 minutes by bicycle, 'Samul' to 150 mts of the Dzitnup, and 'Zac' to 4 blocks from the Hostel. Grottos: Balankanche Cave, to 34 km, close to Chichn Itz. There‘s only positiv things to say! Best hostel so far! The stuff is amazing, they helped us figure out all of our things (daytrips and hiring drivers, sharing the cap with other guests who wanted to see the same place, renting bikes, doing laundry). It‘s super clean! Even the kitchen! They also make delicious breakfast in the morning, one day we had really good pancakes and the other day a fresh sandwich. It‘s almost like a restaurant! The room was super nice too! Loved it 🙂

Nice Hostel located central in Valladolid. The breakfast is a big plus. It is included and they serve a new delicious meal every day. Perfect for starting your day exploring Valladolid & it's surroundings. They also managed a Scooter rental for our group which was extremly nice & recommendable! The Garden is very beautiful and serves as a really nice hang out place.

Great hostel! Super good breakfast and great location. I enjoyed my stay. The weekend i was there there were not many people to meet, but of course it’s not the hostels fault.

Lovely hostel, highlight for me was the big garden/kitchen, but the other facilities are great too (comfy beds, good showers, very clean).

Really nice hostel, I loved the set up in the garden! The only issue was that it was pretty quiet at the time, but there was still a good atmosphere with the people that were staying.

Pros: good located, nice green area, good breakfast, good for couples, good value for money Cons: not very lively, very quiet, bad wi-fi connection, you have to make your own bed, limited time of air-conditioning in the rooms (from 9pm to 07am, they literally get into the dorms to turn it off 1 hour before breakfast when everybody is still asleep, it didn't make sense to me, you wake up with the change of temperature).

I like this hostel a lot. It’s def very authentic Mexico in terms of the plants, decor and building structure and atmosphere. I recommends it since it’s one of the few places with breakfast and the AC in the shared rooms was a major plus since it’s super humid and hot this time of year. Staff is also nice and they have laundry service on your own (hand washing) and machine service + fold that was about $70 pesos.
