Best hostel on the island! Made some awesome friends here. The island was super dead and mainly couples, but it was still a great atmosphere for what we make it. Would love to see it during busy season. It’s right by the beach and they have a ton of space for chilling. Dorm room had multiple fans keeping it cool and didn’t even notice bugs. I’d say test out your beds because some mattresses are newer than others. Thanks for an awesome time on Ometepe guys!

I had a great experience at the Lazy Crab. The staff was super friendly, helpful, informative, and responsive. My bed was comfortable and the ambiance / location is great - lots to do, lots of common areas to chill out, conducive to meeting people, lots of good restaurants nearby. The hostel was for the most part clean however there were roaches crawling in and out of the bathroom drain - definitely a side effect of being in the jungle but a cover on the drain would have been nice.

They offer tours to both volcanoes, guide is excellent. Facilities are alright, why does the kitchen close so early? My room only had 2 outlets and they were for the fans, and a lot of bugs

Lazy crab is a nice set up for a hostel with a really nice owner. However there wasn’t many people staying there during my time (mainly couples), finding it hard to socialise. Great location to explore volcanoes and the lake. Only downside was a bunch of ants around, but easily fixable 😊

Comfy bed, nice hammocks to chill in. As there’s no proper shops around and most restaurants are a bit pricey - we were dependant on breakfast Sunday morning (due to the display board) however we were not informed that there is no breakfast on sundays! Kitchen facilities were okay to cook in could do with buying a few more utensils & cutlery. Free coffee in the morning was nice, staff are friendly too. :)

The hostel is quite run down and basic, but it was cheap. There are a few different chill out areas with hammocks etc and the breakfast they served was good. We tried to book some activities with the staff on reception but they weren’t particularly knowledgeable of what they were selling which wasn’t helpful

Stayed here last month for a night but immediately left the following morning to a nearby hostel.Front desk volunteers may have been new. They seemed a bit annoyed anytime we asked a question. Tarantulas crawled on my feet when using the bathroom. I know I'm in the jungle but wish they had closed off facilities. 5/10 experience.
