As the first hostel in Zagreb, we consider ourself very special and unique because we are the first hostel in Zagreb and the only hostel with the same owners since we opened our house for you 16 years ago, and we still love the job :).
Now, as everyone else, we have to give you an idea what to expect, so here it comes.
First, we can not get any more thumbs up from hostelworld because we are now open only trough the summer, reason- we have kids and kids need time with the parents, and because we are very commited to what we do and because we love it, it wouldt be fair as well to you. What we offer is a personal atmosphere during your stay, meaning, making plans and organizing your travels together when you need help, we are proffessional for NP Plitvice, as we are locals from there, or just hanging out and chatting with you :).

Our hotspot in our hostel is great big garden area with bar and huge fire place, where you can meet other people, try local Croatian beer, drinks and BBQ that we offer in our bar or just relax and enjoy hot Croatian summer.

Perfect location considering all main travel points (arrivals and departures) in Zagreb, only 1 min to bus station, 5 to train station and 7 to Main Square by tram for just 0,55 Eur (buy the ticket at newspaper shop, by the driver all tickets cost 2 eur) is great to discover local Zagreb, walking distance to cheap and great local bars, restaurants and clubs and swimming lakes with free entrance.

Rooms are big and spacious. We offer private twin (bunk bed) rooms and dorms with 4 and 6 beds. There are lots of modern single bathrooms with non stop hot water.

Around the hostel is everything you need- supermarkets, bakeries, restaurants, two excellent and cheap fast food restaurants, ATM, exchange office, pharmacy, lake Bundek as a perfect solution to cool down on a hot summer days (free entrance), most popular night clubs in a walking distance (Green Gold Club, Katran, Tvornica...).

But before you book, please know, we are not a party hostel, our bar is open till 11 pm and we will and we will arrange you a pub crawl or recommend places where you can go.

So, please book at Hostel Lika, everyone is welcome to have fun with us, learn a lot about Croatia from real Croatians and we will be more than happy to teach you basic Croatian :).

Kind owners and respectful space for socializing. Here you are made to feel like part of a family. Highest recommendation. Very quiet despite proximity to highway and tram.

Simple but very nice, the staff are very friendly and ready to help for any inconvenience or question, it has everything one needs when travelling and there are enough bathrooms so I never had to stand in line. It is a bit outside the city center but the city isn't that big, so for people used to mid-size or big cities it's not even something you realize about. Anyways it is good connected to the city through tram.

I stayed over NYE and it was excellent! Marco, the owner, is so welcoming that I instantly felt like part of the family thanks to his friendliness and genuine interest in all. Easy walk from the station if arriving by bus. Only negative was that the common area was closed off if the bar was closed, would be good to have that area to chill even if the bar is closed. Otherwise, would recommend!

Solid hostel very close to bus station which is a huge plus if in transit. Only shame is very strict rules and no kitchen, but not bad for the price.

I was staying to this hostel during this summer . +Pros: the way how the volonteers tried to help each person -Cons: It was not clean, everything was very tiny, very little ( bathroom, shower). Moreover, there were a lot fo rulers:you can't do this, you can't bring food, you can't make noise. People are choosing this hostel because of money: it is the cheapest in the city and it is near bus station.

Alright, so itsa nice hostel and staff and everything...but Ive never been so pissed to sleep somewhere. You walk in and theres rules EVERYWHERE. You cant hang out in the only chill area after 10pm to CLEAN. You cant hang out after checkout cuz they gotta CLEAN. I lift the damn toilet seat and I see a sign that I cant pee standing up. No kitchen, whatever, but you cant even get hot water or bring food in. Front door locked to GET OUT? Guilt trip “follow our rules or youre disrespectful” Pathetic

On the one hand the price was really low. The room was clean but it was very small. On the other hand, It was not permitted to eat your own food in the common area. I asked for an invoice, they said me they were going to send me and they didn´´ t do it. To leave your luggage after check out was not easy. The breakfast was really limited. It is a pity because they could have a nice hostel changing those details.
