I've stayed in a lot of hostels (probably more than 50) and this is one of the best. It has free breakfast and dinner and is really social. I did the tour to Rila Monastery from here too, and it was quite good. Highly highly highly recommended.

10/10! I was in a private room in a building about 4 blocks away. My room was secure, very clean, and the bed was comfortable. Breakfast and dinner are served in the main building. B-fast was great (eggs, cold cuts, waffles, jam, cheese, olives, bread, coffee, tea, and OJ). Dinner was OK- pretty simple vegetarian dishes- but I appreciate that it’s offered even if I didn’t eat it. The main area always had a comfortable hang out vibe. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Would definitely return :)

Bit of a walk from train and bus station, but handy to sights. Loft dorm is pretty cool. Staff are great, and really helpful (thanks Antonia). Meals are free if you pay a higher nightly rate only. Individual lockers, good WiFi, comfy bed, clean showers. Good value, would stay again.

Cool hostel located in a historic building in city center. Lots of socialization in kitchen area and helpful staff. Wish drinking was allowed past 10 pm in common area, but nightly bar crawl was fun. Hope I can come back to Sofia and stay again!

My boyfriend and I stayed in a private double room at Hostel Mostel for 4 nights during our stay in Sofia. We really appreciated the helpful tips and advice on what to do in the city that the hostel receptionists have given us as well as the all-included free breakfast and dinner (we only took advantage of the dinner once and the breakfast 2x but still very good). Our double room was located in a separate building 4-ish blocks away from the main hostel building but was okay.

Everyone I meet calls it a party hostel. So, yea. Drunk lady tried to get into my bed at 2 am. No idea how she got into the dorm. Vomit in bathroom. Very quiet people at breakfast. All the signs of a party hostel. Bring earplugs or ear buds. If you get past the crazy, it's a place to stay. Really great staff, especially the cook. Great breakfast and dinner a few angry hungover folks, but mostly great travelers just getting out. Beds are good with privacy curtain and lockable storage. 👍

Expected a lot more. I guess due to few guests the reception and common areas were closed. Stayed in the appartment a few minutes away. The common area there was super small, and felt crowded if there was more than two people there. Didn't know there was a kitchen there before after 24h, since the uninspired staff never told me. Was not expecting to be by far the youngest person in my dorm. The 6 bed dorm was quite small, and it was a bit tight, specially considering circumstances around corona.
