If you like to drink, eat and make a lot a lot of friends, then look no further. Mandatory drinking games are a regular occurrence at the Quetzal, and a free tequila shot with your dinner may sound like something from a backpacking dream, but here it's just a regular evening activity. If you're looking for a nice hostel close to the main bus terminal, this is the perfect place. According to one past guest, at the Quetzal 'beerpong is not a game, it's a way of life'…

I came here to get away from my previous hostel which was too noisy and felt more like a hotel with staff detached from their guests. Quetzal was just the right vibe for my week stay in Cancun. Quiet mornings & relaxed but fun evenings by the pool. Daniel the manager is a fun loving guy who will sit down & figure out what you want from your stay, whether it be tours or visits to the best beaches or just a place to sleep. He even took me out for tacos my first day. Thanks for hospitality! 👍🏽 👍

Located in Cancun Centro a nine-minute walk from the Ado station. Excellent price for a dorm bed and breakfasts. Lockers are available, The neighborhood is friendly, and a nearby public plaza lets you enjoy a better Mexican experience than the better know Cancun hotel zone.

The hostel was just ok, no more than that. They keep two dogs locked so they cry all day making it very difficult to sleep. Also poor animals, if you can’t take good care of a dog then don’t have it. Even though we requested breakfast during the estipulated time the lady didn’t bother making it until it was too late and we had to leave without it.

Not as expected. Not as clean... also not the party hotel. The huge room was also not a room... the door was a curtain. Just not a lot going on overall. Very hard to communicate with the front desk.

Got there yesterday evening after paying a deposit with the website. Turns out no one is answering the door...went to another hostel in the same area, and they told me Quetzal has been closed for 2 weeks!! Why are they still on this site and why are they still taking reservations and deposit????

Don’t not book this hostel!!!! I arrived to find out the hostel has closed and it is now somebody’s house, the man who owns the house was very welcoming saying he was honouring any bookings that were already made and doing his best to deal with the situation but I don’t think the previous owners have taken it off the website yet. I arrived and left shortly after once I had found another hostel to stay in.
