Hostal San Marcos is easy to miss! but the location is ideal. It's close to the dock where you'd jump off your boat, however, no water views. The breakfast is included at a nearby was AMAZING. The room is private for your group of travelers which is nice. The worst part was probably just the fact that they ran out of hot water when i needed to shower.. but overall, decent hostal! I can live without 1 shower haha.

This is a good hostel, more like a guest house. Simple place, staff very friendly, good breakfast and great value for money. It’s not a big organised hostel with parties, activities etc but for a simple place to stay it’s good. Dorm rooms could do with some lockers, we’re informed there were plans to install some.

I liked the location on the Main Street, close to restaurants. Staff didn’t speak any English which isn’t a complaint just incase others have issues. Wasn’t really a vibey place but great value for money and room was clean but it kind of smelt abit fusty. Would stay again for a night or two, incs breakfast aswell which was great.

    Very Good

The workers were sweet. The owner was kinda cool but this place has so much potential and seems kinda abandoned. There was no WiFi in our room and the sink wasn’t working when we got there and a bit dusty. Also the kitchen wasn’t in use even though it was right there in front so was super tempting to use. Good place but as I said could be so much more great. I think the owner has a lot on his plate so needs a push or some help. But breakfast in nearby cafe which was free was so so good!!!

It's not really a hostel but just some private rooms for a decent price. It was clean the beds were comfortable, but there is no hostel atmosphere or anything like that. Wifi is also in the reception area.

Hostel didn’t register our booking and didn’t have the room we booked. We got another room for a good price which they then tried to charge us more for. The power was out for all of our stay and the Wi-Fi was only at reception and didn’t work anywhere else. With the power out you couldn’t see in the toilets or in the rooms as the lights didn’t work and the charging ports didn’t work. The restaurant nearby which offers a free breakfast is very nice though as is the owner.

The owner and staff were nice and helpful and the restaurant Fe that the owner also runs is nice. However this plac is dirty and our room was filled with bugs. The power kept going out so there wasn’t any WiFi or water on the property and couldn’t have a shower all morning. No lockers/ safe spots for valuables The owner said that the breakfast times had changed to 8-10:30 but it when arriving at breakfast at 10:05 we were then told we were too late. There’s other nicer places to stay like la Paz

I would love to review this hostel but they lost our reservation for a private room. Instead, they offered a single bed in a dorm for the 2 of us to share (but said we had to pay full price for 2 adults even though it was only a single bed & their error). The 2nd option, which we took, was to stay in a private room at a sister hotel, Casa Maya. That one has a 1-star rating for good reason (dirty, spiders, etc.). The guy at the desk did his best but the owner couldn't care less about his guests.
