We had a lovely stay at Tropico and Cozumel in general :) The Honeycombs were a great experience and gave us a lot of privacy. The Hostel was super clean and offered all the facilities you need. The location was awesome, everything was in walking distance. Totally recommend for a stay in Cozumel! :)

Little hot on the day and in the early evening because the airco's go on 21.00 until round 07.00 the bunk beds are good, good mattress, lot of space , locker under the bed, not to big but good enough, you can use the kitchen, frige, magnetron, tosti,cooker/hotplate, and more kitchen things, the lines for your Loundry is outside not so handy in the rain, tables are outside no roof, not so handy on rainy day, wifi is good, USB connection is by the power, overall this hostel is a good option

It's an oke hostel, especially for the price! However, they really need to do something about all the mosquitos in the bathrooms and showers

Basic hostel, decent location, had all necessary facilities. The kitchen and outdoor area were nice. Trash in the showers, receptionist seemed annoyed. I had a private room that resembled a closet with a mattress.. but it was nice to have a locking door! The vibe wasn’t too communal more of a place to crash. I’d say overall, more positive than negative but not blown away.

This was the first hostel I have ever been to that charges you for water if you bring your own bottles. Everything had a charge and it made it seem like the owner was super cheap. The 20L water refills are 20 pesos anywhere in Quintana Roo, and to charge guests 10 pesos each regardless of bottle size just seemed like the place is nickel and diming folks. Also, the mosquitos in the common area outside are everywhere. Would try other places in Cozumel before returning back to this one.

Great location on the waterfront; turn left and you’re 2 minutes from town, turn right and you’re 5 minutes from some nice little beaches. The bathrooms were lovely; cleanest I’ve seen in a hostel in Mexico but the dorm is a bit odd. It’s all just one corridor with bunks accessible to everyone. We had a private room which was literally just a bed and a shelf. Not enough room to stand up and not enough room for your bags. There was a great fan though which I don’t think the bunks had.

It's an ok hostel for a night, would not stay longer tho. there was mold in the showers and on the dorm beds curtains. Also, the dorm is not actually dorm, it is a "beehive" style bed in the corridor. So when the reservation says "6 Bed Mixed Dorm" it's actually a bed in a corridor among 20 other beds. Private rooms don't have full walls. There is AC, which was very nice for a change. The kitchen is outside and it's pretty ok, has everything you need for a short term stay. Ferry is close.

Wouldn't recommend this hostel to anyone. Pretty bad stay overall. Receptionist was very strange with us and not particularly friendly as soon as we'd arrived. Cleanliness was nonexistent. Hair and rubbish everywhere in the showers. Kitchen was a tip with flies everywhere. We booked the private room and there is very little private about it. Also there is only enough space for the bed and hardly anything else. Our bags didn't fit in unless they were on the bed with us.
