Property Description

Welcome to Hotel My Home, a small family run budget hotel in the heart of Amsterdam. Voted number 1 best shopping street in Holland and second best in 2011. We have been catering to guests from around the globe for 50+ years. Centrally located on one of the most diverse shopping streets on the edge of the colourful Jordaan we are within walking distance from Central Station (7mins) and many other sights not to be missed when visiting the city. Our street has every amenity you could need (supermarkets, laundry, cafes, pharmacy, CoffeeShops, restaurants etc) and our friendly, multilingual staff will be happy to provide you with free maps and tourist information.

The reception doubles as a comfortable sitting lounge, with a television & stereo, social games, a soft drink vending machine & a free pool table for our guests. WIFI is available (free of charge) throughout the hotel.

Please note, that although Amsterdam has added new tobacco laws, we are still 'smoker-friendly' for guests that choose to smoke in their rooms or in the outdoor patio area in the lounge.

The rooms are simple and cozy, bedding and towels are provided.
Each room has its own sink with hot and cold water, while the showers and toilets are shared with other rooms on the same floor.
We include a great cooked breakfast (fried or scrambled eggs, cheese, jam, toast & all the coffee and tea you would like!) from 8:30am-10am. For late risers, free coffee is available all morning.

While we have no age restriction, we do not allow you to bring your pets to stay with us, no matter how small or cute :).But however we do have two cats in the hotel called Tarzan and Jane.

Our reception is open from 8:30am-23:00pm for check-in, reservations and inquiries. If you will be checking in after 23:00, please be sure that you indicate your correct arrival time, or if you will be delayed, that you contact us by telephone to let us know. Once you have checked in, you will have keys for 24 hour access, there are no curfews or lockouts.
We have a 3 night minimum stay on all weekends and holidays. Bookings for groups of over 12 persons on request. View House Rules

Hostel was very nice. Rooms and common areas were extremely clean. Owners were super nice and willing to assist with anything we needed. Located close to everything you could want but not too touristy. The breakfast in the morning was always amazing and much needed. Only downside was the steep stairs but they were no real problem. An amazing first experience at a hostel. 10/10

This is a really great place to stay if you are on a budget. There are dorm rooms but there are private rooms also. I booked the private room and it was a good value for me. The hotel is very close to central station and also very close walk to the rest of central Amsterdam. Chris, one of the managers of the hostel, is a super nice guy and made my stay great. In the morning there is breakfast available with coffee, toast, and eggs. Also, if you smoke, smoking is allowed here as well. Thank you!

The staff is really friendly here! Super chill people, they make you breakfast too! The area is surrounded by restaurants and it’s only a 5 minute walk to all the shops. Farther from the museums (around 40 mins walk) but Amsterdam is small anyway and it’s a beautiful city. The stairs are really steep so watch your step. Some rooms let you smoke in them (mine did).

Wonderful central location. Was pleasantly surprised when they offered a smoking room, although there are nonsmoking rooms as well. Staff was very friendly. Would go back!

    Fabulous

This location is perfect, and the owners (and cat!) are very kind. . Breakfast is simple but good, and we could store some small items in the mini-fridge. There were probably 6 people sharing the bathroom on our floor, but we never ran into a problem, everyone was using the toilet (1) and showers (2) at different times. We had a private room, which had its own sink. Really tiny and expensive for a backpacker, but that's the market in Amsterdam! It's hard to find a better deal.

The location here was fantastic - really close to the central train station and the street has a good atmosphere. The staff there are great, so helpful - they suggested great things to do. The breakfast is amazing! The building is quite old which means that the toilet and shower are not great. The only thing is that the stairs to get to the rooms are crazy steep!! You do have to pay for the accomodation in cash.

    Very Good

The location of this hostel is unbeatable! The rooms are basic enough but comfortable! The stairs is a bit tricky so can be a bit of a nightmare with a suitcase but overall a great place to stay in Amsterdam.

The small room cost €135 a night which is a lot considering the beds were camp beds and toilet and shower were cupboards. What ruined it was the noise. Walls are paper thin so you readily hear the inconsiderate drugged up guests shouting at 0330 in the morning. Place is fine if you aim to get off your face and crash somewhere but is not good for tourists I’m afraid. The owner is friendly.
