Such a nice hostel!!! Hanna the owner is absolutely delightful and really cares about her customers! Breakfast at the cafe in the hostel was amazing and is a definite must! While the location is a little walk out of town, it is nicely situated between Unawatuna and Jungle Beach giving you good options for beach days and with added advantage of getting to sleep in the jungle!

I stayed at House Under Palmtrees for more than one week and I absolutely loved every single minute of my stay! The room is delicately decorated down to the last detail, perfectly cleaned every single day and super spacious - all in place to make you feel right at home. The café serves delicious breakfast underneath the palmtrees, making every morning a delight! As a guest I felt seen, welcomed and included right from the start, thank you so much Hanna! I will definitely be back🌞🥭🧡

I have never stayed in such a beautiful, clean, chill hostel in my LIFE! The location is perfect - under the trees in a jungle, short walk from everywhere to go in Unawatuna and right between Jungle beach and the main beach. Hanna, the owner, is the most lovely person and made me feel at home at her place. Because it’s a smaller hostel it has such a nice intimate atmosphere - the people I met there feel like family now. THANK YOU HANNA for the best time ever! I will definitely be back!! ❤️

Such a beautiful hostel. Probably the nicest in the world. Hanna, the owner, is a 23 year old German girl who is so inspiring and has done a great job with this place. The place is just as it looks in the photos (!). Super clean, bedsheets and towels are of amazing quality, breakfast and smoothies available, short walk to the beach for morning swim, and great ppl. For my preference it only needs a small kitchen for the guests. Other than that, best place ever!

Great atmosphere in this beautifully-designed hostel somewhat out of Unawatuna in the jungle/palmtrees (monkeys living in the trees above - lovely!). Great for trips to jungle beach, which is without doubt nicer than Unawatuna beach. The breakfast is healthy and nicely arranged by a friendly, german owner. Highly recommended!

If you are looking for a quiet refuge, a place to relax, meet kind people and recharge this is the place to go! The hostel is the cleanest and most lovely designed I have seen!!! Hanna, the owner, is very sweet and makes sure that you have everything you need and are enjoying your stay! On my first day she asked me whether I want to join for dinner and our whole dorm went out for food and drinks. From the start there was a wonderful and familiar vibe! I would definitely recommend this place!!

The best part about this hostel is its' location - right among the trees in the jungle. It is a bit far from the Unawatuna beach - but the location covers up for that. I felt that the hostel is newly established. The room was very spacious and you also have an option of taking a shower in the Jungle. The owner - Hanna, is really welcoming and friendly. She allowed us to check-in early into the place. There is a in-house cafe but is open till 4 in the evening only though.

Beautiful place, good location (although not a nice walk back alone at night). No AC, which you would expect from the price, and the fans just didn’t cut it - unbearably hot at night.

    Very Good

    30 Dec 2019
Hostel is beautifully put together, peaceful, and Hanna is lovely. Breakfasts available are delicious. Location at the top of a steep hill. No aircon, gets really hot, (not sure how I missed when booking that it didn't have any). In the private room there's no curtains on the windows (v. bright in the morning), and the vents are completely open, needs something to stop bugs being able to get in as it's a buggy area. Also no staff around after 4-5pm & water dispenser locked away from dorm rooms.
