I had a good time here especially as its in walking distance from downtown Nassau and Paradise Island. The host, Oneil, is an awesome guy and friend. He is very informative and can get you anything you need. He can pick up food and water for you, you can even ask him to cook. He made me an authentic and delicious Caribbean dinner. Everyone is friendly, willing to hang out, and drink some beers. I got a little experience of what living like a local was like at HumesHouse and would recommend.

Great budget and backpacking location. O’Neil the host was very helpful and accommodating. If I went back to Nassau I’d go back!

No frills hostel somewhat near the harbor. Good people (mostly divers and people who work/getting on the boat) and a solid place for a short stay. It is in a residential area and a bit far from everything else however.

Nice hostel: comfortable rooms, clean bathrooms, good kitchen. Location is residential area, but isn't far from downtown - easy walk (15 mins). Edward (owner) is always around the house and easy going fellow that can help you with info or to help with booking tours and stuff. Recommend!

Our experience at Humes House was a bit uncomfortable. We enjoyed meeting and spending time with the other guest, but there was a volunteer staff worker who was the only staff present our entire stay. He made us a bit uncomfortable and treated guests like they were nuisance children at his home. While the location of the house isn't far from the downtown or the bridge to Paradise Island the neighborhood didn't feel very safe for walking especially at night with no sidewalks or other pedestrians.

The place was nice but quite expensive. The girl that worked there (Sophie) was so sweet and welcomed us with opened arms. Sophie gets a 10! There was only one incident with the guy that worked there. He took some of our food and promised to replace it but didn’t. Normally it wouldn’t be a big deal but when you’re traveling on a budget and depends on the food you bought it kinda sucks. When we asked him about it he got kinda offended and told us we just have bought it ourselves.

I've stayed in hostels in 20+ countries -this place is the WORST by far. I stayed here 8 nights REALLY BAD STAFF. Trust me avoid this place. SO uncomfortable. 1. The staff shouts and screams every day. They talk about HOW HORRIBLE WHITE PEOPLE ARE. UNREAL. AVOID 1. The main guy - Von, is ALWAYS grouchy, in a bad mood, complains TO the guests about the OTHER guests, scolds people openly. 2. If there's food left in the sink - Von interrogates everyone and hunts people down to clean.
