The best Hostel I have ever stayed at. The place itself has great facilities and has very cool decorations. The dog Holmes is adorable and acts as a great guard dog for security! All the people there were lovely, simply fantastic place👍 10/10 would come again in a heartbeat.🙌 Thank you Ash!

The only hostel I'll ever stay at when in Margaret won't get luxury, but you will find an excellent place to meet travellers, top staff and an awesome location 300m from Settlers Tav...I highly recommend

    Very Good

People at the hostel were super friendly & helpful in finding things to do around the area! Few people living in the hostel/staying long term and owner has a dog (we loved that but could be a con for some). No lockers or locks on doors and the dorm was very lived in. Would stay again if in the area as people were so friendly!

Really not the place to stay if you’re used to a standard of a YHA. If you are totally laid back, you’ll find the place to be charming but I wouldn’t recommend it. Felt more like a ramshackle university house and I’m past that. Limited facilities and worn out, people can easily walk in and out if they choose - it had looked as if someone had previously tried to break into the room we were staying in. No lockers available but we did have a lock on our door (twin bed private room).

Security was good as there is a dog that barks at anyone that tries to enter the property - pretty scary. The kitchen was a mess and dirty, the girls bathroom was very basic and only one shower worked. The whole place was just dilapidated and run down and unclean, could really do with being painted. Lots of long-term people staying here.

Unfortunately the hostel isn't looked after well, very old not well maintained. The bathroom was fairly clean but only one working shower, common areas are dirty, smelly. No keys for the rooms and everyone can just enter the premises unnoticed from the back and easily access the rooms unseen. There is a dog living there which isn't mentioned anywhere, it is barking and growling at guests and behaves scary at times. Breakfast is basic, staff was nice, lots of weed being smoked all over.

I've tried to think of something nice to stay about this place but there's nothing I can say. First of all the room I booked did not match the description on the website. Secondly the staff have clearly stopped caring and it comes through in the state of disrepair throughout the whole place. Thirdly, there were not enough bowls, plates or cups to go round at meal times. Finally, if you have a dog allergy don't go, there's a dog roaming common areas.
