If your looking for a hotel to stay, that’s not your place, but if you want a different experience, enjoy all of your time in the city, and only a place to sleep, go! The beds have 1.80 meters I guess, but know that they have a lot of food (vegan) available in the whole day for you, and that you will be helping in the contribution of Hare Krishna to give food to the homeless (nice!).

I stayed in the fifth floor which also includes other hostel called Chelsea cabbins. Compared to the second floor, where the interfaith retreats is based, the fifth falls behind on shower and toilet facilities (two showers and two toilets for 25 rooms). Also, since the rooms have no ceiling you can pretty much hear everything the other guests do. In addition, the breakfast is a bit dodgy a lot of fruit flies most of the time. The good thing is really the location.

Warm, welcoming, and everything you need. The room or pod is tiny, but all you need when you are sleeping after a day walking around the city.

The only good things about this hostel are its location and its cheap price. The place is rather messy and dirty. The staff is nowhere to be seen in case you need them The "single bedrooms" are really just wooden planks separations around your bed, without ceiling in a larger flat. So, you are basically in a shared room with a semi-private bed. This is not necessarily bad, but it would be good to know it beforehand. The place is noisy, and many guests unconsidered.

Listed as "privates", but the entire hostel is one long shared room with a structure of 8ft walls separating the bedrooms. You have to be quiet like you're sharing a dorm and can hear everyone's alarms going off in the morning. Each room is a box barely larger than the bed, and I couldn't straighten my legs in bed (I'm only 5'10"!) The Chelsea International Hostel just down the street offers cheaper privates and a proper room. I would recommend it if you're visiting Manhattan for business.

Very kind staff in what is a peaceful, library-like quiet environment. It’s in an outstanding central NYC location, which leads to a bit of a cramped experience in the rooms and common areas, so don’t expect to hang around the hostel itself much of the day or to meet many new people either. Encountered cleaners on multiple occasions so it was good to see bathrooms are regularly getting tidied up. Good experience overall, but definitely important to set your expectations going into it.

This is a very humble facility with incredibly tiny rooms (barely space to turn around and a mattress), co-ed bathrooms, and zero counter space to actually take care of your grooming needs. Space is really tight, the place is dimly lit; this is the barest of bare bones accommodations. However, the location is great -- two blocks south of Penn Station -- and the staff was friendly. I felt safe there although I was a bit creeped out by the half-naked men in the bathroom. Not for me.
