My stay at ISH was very good despite current construction going on as the property continues to be renovated. My room w private bthrm was very basic (no toiletries) but very clean. You pay for the convenience of the location, (across the street there is 24/7 tesco express, subway, restaurants/pubs/grocery open late, safety as streets are well lit), included breakfast (4 items credit per day) and 24/7 reception. All staff during the day were very welcoming especially Endrit.

Having had no sleep at a cheaper hostel next to a railway station I was delighted with the quiet and orderly ISH where I got two good nights’ sleep! Exceptionally clean with professional helpful staff. Breakfast on the first day includied various non-meat non-dairy options such as porridge. Second day these were all missing - eek! - but a staff member arranged for me to breakfast with the students downstairs where a full selection was available.

I made this place my base for a 4 night stay to catch up friends around London, explore and a much needed change of scenery. The location was absolutely perfect and at £45 per night for an ensuite room in central London an absolute bargain. Yes the rooms are basic, there's no TV or tea and coffee making facilities - but so what, you're paying £45 per night for somewhere to rest after being out all day enjoying London - you don't need the TV. Ignore the bad reviews.

Great security. There was about 7 long hairs around the room, and cleanliness is no1 basic thing I'd expected. But apart from the hairs it seemed very clean. Was only one big towel. A small hand towel would of been useful. Even in places like this, hotel size soap and shampoo would be nice as travelers rarely carry them. Room very small and no TV etc, but that was all as advertised and the price reflects

I stayed one night to attend a business meeting and stayed in a single bed en-suite room. Absolutely fine overnight - just bring a toothbrush - towels, soap etc is provided and of good quality, bed adequate, quiet. Having said that the room is very lacking in any additional facilities - no tv, phone, radio, hairdryer, iron, kettle, etc - although with these last two there may be access in communal kitchens/laundry rooms that I didn't have the chance to seek out. Exceptionally friendly staff!

    Very Good

It was clean and practical. The mattress was so thin I could feel every lump and spring . I had to sleep on top of my duvet to get some padding to avoid bruising my hips. For some reason there were no curtains in my room so I was woken up by the light. For £70 all I wanted was somewhere to sleep. And the bed was impossible to sleep in.

It was an ok stay, but that was only because the location is so great! But: 1) My room only had one tiny window that only opened a tiny bit, so getting fresh air was nearly impossible. Also, in order to open it, you had to climb onto the desk, it would have been impossible to reach otherwise, and for many people climbing onto furniture in not possible due to restricted mobility etc!!! 2) my window had no curtains, so I actually had to prop up my bag to stop people from watching me sleep!

Did not have a good experience. It felt like a hospital room, one phosphorescent light, everything white. It’s not a hostel, it’s a dorm room for international students and the “hostel” is any spare beds. Didn’t have soap/shampoo when I arrived. Cleaners came third day and threw out the soap/shampoo without replacing, and also threw out my toothpaste. Staff wasn’t able to replace toothpaste. Royal pain to suddenly have no toothpaste.
