Excellent spot for a couple of nights right in the centre of Queenstown. Obviously not the fault of the hostel but the place seemed eerily quiet during our stay and the upstairs bar that was advertised to be open 7 nights with a happy hour from 4-7 was closed during our entire stay. Covid really sucks

Overall great experience. You get what you pay for - the rooms are quite good with a good amount of privacy. The bathrooms are clean and work quite well in my experience. This hostel is more of a place people sleep than a ‘party’ hostel so I am not sure how it would be trying to make friends but that wasn’t a problem for our trip.

I stayed here for 5 nights and really enjoyed my stay here, the capsules are spacious with power outlets heating and lighting, pin code lockers for belongings were a bonus, I would definitely stay here again very close to everything including 4 square supermarket, the kitchen can get quite cramped at times so pick timings wisely other then that can’t wait to come back :)

Jucy Snooze Queenstown is superbly located only around 50 metres from the buses to Remarks and Coronet. The rooms are modern and well maintained. There is one small kitchen with one double fridge for the whole hostel, and little space to prep and cook meals, and one small bench for eating at - it's not really designed for self-catering. The common area is the rooftop bar area, which didn't have a lot of patronage when I stayed. Most other guests seem to be seasonal workers so a bit clique-y.

Overall it was a good stay. The main negative is that there is fire lights in the bedrooms at night that won’t turn off so the rooms are never completely dark and the pod only has a blind which still lets in the light.

    Very Good

Overall I had a great stay. The room was comfy and had everything we needed. The place is relatively quiet which is nice. Excellent location, right in the center of town. Not a very social hostel as there's not much communal space but that's no issue. Staff were friendly enough but hardly saw them. Only thing I didn't like was the kitchen is wayyyyyy too small so people's groceries were piled up on the benches and floors.

    Very Good

While the hostel is right in the middle of town (close to everything) and the staff were absolutely lovely, these two positives are the only things we enjoyed about the hostel. Our room was in the middle of the building and therefore had no windows which made it feel quite claustrophobic. The kitchenette was tiny and had room for about 3 people to sit down for quite a large hostel. We avoided the area entirely at dinner as it was chaos. No homely vibe but that is to be expected by a corporation.

The main downside is there is no common room. The "rooftop" bar is more of a regular bar with a deck and it closes early. When it closes you have to leave too, which makes the whole place pretty anti-social. It definitely doesn't have the usual hostel atmosphere. The rooms have no windows and you have to leave your door card in a slot by your bed to have power to charge your phone, so you have to stay in the room while that happens. Average, plenty of better options to stay at tbh.

Unfortunately I didn’t enjoy my experience here. The vibe wasn’t great. My room didn’t have a window so there was no fresh air coming in and felt claustrophobic and contributed to getting sick. The kitchen was dirty, I didn’t want to cook in it. I had a couple of lovely girls in my room but otherwise hard to meet people. When people are using power in their pods (Which is fair enough) lights on the pods light up the room overnight which (despite curtains) made it hard to sleep.

The 8 bed dorm was so small that you couldn’t comfortably stay here. The room was so dusty that all of us woke up with allergies every morning. There was no window in the room, making it even more claustrophobic and anxiety inducing. The toilets were lacking in light and next to no amenities - a single sink for an entire floor of rooms. They were also very dirty. The staff continually came into our room with out knocking making us extremely uncomfortable.S**t wifi - did not work once.
