Overview

Halfway between the old town and the Oktoberfest fairground, Jaeger's Munich is the ideal base for exploring one of Germany's most beautiful cities. Sip local beer and chat to people from around the world in our on-site bar, or head to our 24-hour reception desk for tips on things to see and do during your stay. Our friendly staff are mainly locals and young Brits, and they're always up for offering insider advice. You can also join our free city tours (in English and Spanish). Location

Our hostel's just steps away from Munich's Hauptbahnhof (central station): ideal if you're arriving by rail or heading on to explore other German cities. It takes 50 minutes to reach us from the airport, using the S1 overground train. There are lots of museums and bars within 10 minutes' stroll, and it only takes 15 minutes to wander to Frauenkirche – a huge cathedral and one of Munich's most famous attractions. If you're visiting in late September or early October, Oktoberfest is a 15-minute walk away.

Rooms and Dorms

Our mixed dorms have private bathrooms, lockers and air con – great for hot German summers! Pack a padlock to keep your belongings secure in a locker. Bed linen's included, but if you forget your towel, you can rent one. If you like to have your own little area, book into one of our single or double private rooms. Towels are included if you stay in one of these, plus you get your own TV.

There's no curfew, so explore as late as you like! In the morning, feast on a breakfast buffet while you relive the night before with new friends. There's also free Wi-Fi so you can update your followers on your new favourite beers. If you arrive early or have a late flight to catch on check-out day, you can leave your luggage in the lockers in our lobby.

The receptionists are really nice and friendly! The bed is comfortable. The buffet breakfast they serve is good. Their location is close to main train and bus station in Munich.

The only downside was the lockers in the room were tiny. You could barely fit a backpack in. Other than that there was a great social environment down in the common area. However, it closed at midnight. But shoutout, to the Barman Kyle. Kept us entertained whilst serving us drinks. And even gave us some Plastic Cups to play some bar games with other guests.

Great hostel on a street with many other hostels very close to main train station. 20 minutes walk to main bus station. Lots of different and interesting restaurants in the area, close to grocery stores. Good bar with friendly staff. Large common area, lockers available. Very quiet for area. 4 bed dorms had plenty of room, storage, lockers. Staff knowledgeable on local sights. Free walking tours starts from hostel as well as in centre of town. No kitchen facilities, only microwave.

Staying at jaeger's was such an amazing experience, especially from the social point of view. You can meet really nice and interesting people there, both in your dorm and at the bar. The staff is really helpful and they can answer every question that you have (especially the two girls that have been there all the evenings of my stay have been very nice). They don't have a kitchen, that's true, but that wasn't really a problem. And also the hostel was really clean all the time.

Really nice hostel, pretty great location just outside of town and nearby the trains and busses. The bar is solid and the staff are very helpful and friendly. The pillows are pretty flat and uncomfortable, and rooms can get a little hot even with the a/c, but still very nice accommodation

Super cool place. Staff are really friendly and happy to help. Rooms are nice, wifi works well and having an en-suite bathroom is really nice. You don’t really get a lot for the €5 breakfast though.

Basic hostel. Only two power outlets in my entire 4-bed dorm. Shower water only comes out as long as you are pushing the button so you shower with one hand.

I specifically chose this hostel because it had air conditioning but the control and the light switch were hidden behind a set of lockers. I had to physically shift the lockers to turn on the lights. The staff weren't really knowledgeable about the room either. When we asked about the air conditioning they said it was on or it might be broken but in reality it was just turned off in our room. Found out later staff were telling people not to touch the controls to use the air conditioning.

Absolute disgrace of a hostel. The worst I have every stayed in. Beds are horrible. Mattress is like a mat used for school. There is zero comfort in it. The bed are old metal beds, which shake and make noise when the person above moved. I was roomed with 3 teenage girls, and when I requested to me moved I was refused. When I asked for a refund, I was told "we already have your money, we don't give it back, you can leave" so, I had to get a full priced hotel. Staff do not care. Avoid this hostel
