Jazz on the Park is an insanely well-situated, well-priced Hostel in NYC. For the money, there aren't many comparable alternatives. Having said that, there are two downsides worth noting. First, the walls and doors are paper thin, and you'll hear every slammed door (and most of them slam shut) at all hours. Second, the bathroom has a sink with those push-tab faucets on a timer, so you get ~3 seconds of water per press, and on my most recent visit, there wasn't soap for the sink, which sucks.

    Very Good

My girlfriend went to shower and their was literally a pile of s**t in the sink. I know it’s not y’alls fault that happened but it was VERY gross. She told one of the staff members and they proceeded to get housekeeping to clean it up. Overall besides that inconvenience it was very nice, I can say it was a little bit pricey for the private room. But I enjoyed the stay overall.

Don’t stay here, this hostel has many problems. The keycards stop working randomly, and require a reset from the front desk. As a result, guests would often prop the doors open. There are very few outlets in the rooms and a lot in the common room, but they are useless since the common room is closed overnight. There was a guest in my room who started a fight at 2am and had to be removed by police. The staff were very good though.

If you just need a place to crash, this will work. It’s quite out of the way on the upper west side but close to Central Park if thats what you’re after. The set up of the place is a mess. Only women’s restrooms on one floor and women’s showers off the main kitchen area. As a man staying on the first floor I had to go up to the third floor to use the toilets and shower. That makes a midnight piss a big inconvenience. The place looks run down, no soap or way to dry your hands in the toilets.

The sleaziest of hostels in a really nice area. Although far from pretty much anything but Central Park. Rented a private room on the 1st floor. There were 2 women’s toilets.across the hall. Had to go up to the 3rd floor for the men’s anything. The place was dirty and not kept up. Definitely skip this place.

Awful place. The staff was unhelpful to the point of crulty. The bathroom was discusting and filthy. I asked three times for toilet paper and was given the flippant response that the staff member didn't know how to open the dispenser so wouldn't do anything. Three out of 4 showers were broken and ran only cold, again nothing was done. This place is no better than a slim.

It’s a awful place, it's not safe at all, you don't have bathroom service, you can end up sleeping with drug addicts or thieves, you don't even have a blanket. It is a horrible place, please believe me if you don't want to have a bad experience and lose your money like me.
