Jungla Del Jaguar was by far the nicest Hostel we’ve ever stayed at. The hospitality is fantastic and all of the employees are happy to help with whatever you need. The location is beautiful and full of life. We saw monkeys, sloths, tapirs, scarlet macaws, toucans, and much more. Once in a lifetime experience.

By far one of the coolest hostels I've stayed at on my trip. The hostel is a 30 minute boat ride south of Drake Bay. Secluded and peaceful with many activities that you can book. Lots of hiking that can be done on the trails behind the property (I think I ended up hiking about 10km during my stay). The food was excellent, albeit more expensive than typical food around Costa Rica. If you're bringing your own food, make sure it is well sealed as there are insects that will try to get inside it.

We had the most amazing stay at Jungla del Jaguar ! We stayed for three nights in this beautifully wild and remote hostel and had a lot of fun ! The staff was super nice and they showed us everything there is to see about the island: animals, sea caves, hidden waterfalls and beaches, fun things to do, secret spots... We felt our whole stay was an adventure ! So if you are looking for nature, adrenaline and relaxing time on the beach, this is the place for you ! Huge thanks for everything !

Amazing location and hostel. We saw a tapir in the gardens! The trails around the hostel are beautiful, and you have the chance to explore sea caves and the like. The only problem is that there are no self catering options, and while the food in the restaurant is excellent, it is quite pricey. If you are tight on money, just bring some dry foods (ramen, bread with spread, etc) m. Overall though, an incredible stay!

Really nice place, has much more of a resort-feel than a hostel-feel, so if you’re into that then this is the place for you! There is no kitchen, so you can only buy food from the kitchen. When I was there, it was mostly older couples and a few younger groups of friends, so it was kinda weird being an solo female traveler there. I stayed in the dorm, which was nice, but it was in an open-air space so I felt a little weird not having a door.

Magical and wild place! Also affordable!! Loved the scenery. Would recommend, but note in advance: *Staff are very friendly. Lucas, the one in charge is super nice and helpful, until there's a problem - in which case he doesn't care about you and would not try to help. He even got quite rude. *The Corcovado tour the hostel offers is a joke. A nice hike, but so not worth 100$!! Take the regular one from Drake Bay to Sirena! *You depend on the restaurant as it's the only place around. Bring food!

Overall I enjoyed my time there, the staff was nice and I made friends with a few of my dorm mates. It's in the jungle facing the beach, so the scenery and wildlife were awesome (saw a tapir on my 1st night). The dorm I stayed provids good lockers with the option to charge your phone, which was great. However, you cannot put absolutely everything in the locker, and some of my stuff that I never thought anyone would want to steal disappeared (perhaps whoever took it assumed it belonged to nobody)

    Very Good

Amazing hostel the property is great! The dorms are clean considering this is the jungle. The staff was really not great pushing to sell tour when the food is already quite expensive. They where not able to help with the transport and didn’t tell is the boat is leaving us to Drake Bay and not Sierpe so we missed our bus. I had to run after the staff to pay my bill… not really customer oriented I think.

The location of the place is great, it’s nice to hear the sound of the ocean and the jungle and the sunset view is amazing. Regarding the facilities there is no kitchen and no shops so you have to eat in the restaurant and the prices are just ridiculous for what the meals are and the rations are not very big either. The overall experience was average, the atmosphere of the place just didn’t feel like in the rest of Costa Rica.
