Great location, beautiful views of mountains surround the place. We really appreciated the open spaces downstairs (huge living room and kitchen) where we were encouraged to read, chill out or talk to other travellers. Really made it feel like home. Showers were good quality and small touches like lockers and charging points beside each bunk were appreciated.

This is the second time I stayed here and I would recommend it! My boyfriend and I stayed in the 2 person private room and we had bamboo floors with the traditional Japanese style bed mats. They were a bit hard but I am finding most beds in Japan are hard for me. Shared bathrooms but we didn't mind. Also right next to a Lawson's down the street and the road to the lake isn't far at all. It took us maybe 10 mins or less to make it to the lake where there are restaurants and shopping.

We stayed at K’s house for 2 nights, one night before climbing Mt. Fuji and another night after we came back. It’s one of our favorite hostels we’ve ever stayed! The whole place was very clean and spacious. You can easily meet other travelers/hikers and share information. The staff are all really friendly and helpful as well. It is about 15 mins walk from Kawaguchiko station but it’s not too bad :) The only thing was that they charge ¥100 per item to store even though we were coming back to stay

Perfect location for hiking Mt. Fuji (from Fujiyoshida), though a bit of a walk from the train station. Staff were a bit inflexible in regards to check in/out and desk hours were quite limited. Large kitchen and common areas, great atmosphere of fellow outdoor enthusiasts (broad range of ages and nationalities). Lockers were unfortunately too small to fit luggage, and bathroom facilities were a bit limited.

Make sure you go to the right hostel, we went to the wrong one with a VERY similar name. Should make this more clear and got sassed by receptionist and made to pay for an expensive taxi to the other hostel ( sounds like this happens a lot ). Hostel was nice but had to make own bed and no curtains on bunks. Only 2 showed and toilets for the whole floor with ALOT of people. Large social space and kitchen. Restaurants and train station a trek away, staff at this hostel were nice and helpful.

    Very Good

Wasn’t a bad hostel, but in comparison to others in Japan it wasn’t perfect. Beds had no curtains, and were in close proximity making the dorms noisy (especially with snorers). Everything’s clean enough but doesn’t strike me as modern. Staff were fine, but seemed a little miserable. Traditional keys were used to unlock doors, lockers provided. Was hoping I’d meet solo fuji climbers but was more couples and families with children. Location fairly good, near the lake. Bike rental was good.

A long 20 minute walk from the bus/train station. Dorms are super tight without any storage space. Common areas are nice.
