What is KACLLA?

KACLLA is a quechua name for the Peruvian Hairless Dog. Due to the texture of their skin and the fact that they are three degrees warmer than the normal canine temperature, kacllas have been used for millennia, by indigeneous Andean civilizations, as pain relief for rheumatism and other ailments.

KACLLA, The Healing Dog Hostel, is a cozy rest and mind-renewing centre where we intend to give you channels of connection with the native culture and with your inner self too.

Come in, we would like to 'heal' you... View House Rules

Such a lovely lovely hostel. I arrived late at night and they helped me get settled. The breakfast was amazing, the staff was super helpful, and the dog is pretty damn cute.

I really enjoyed my stay here. Very spacious rooms, reading lights, good breakfast. The only thing that annoyed me a bit was that sometimes you had to wait quite long for the breakfast, as it is prepared individually for everyone.

Great hostel! Located in Miraflores. Lovely atmosphere, calm & relaxed. Breakfast is delicious and the coffee is fab! Only complaint would be that they don’t welcome you to chill and use facilities after you check out.. which most hostels tend to do... so that’s odd.. anywho I’d recommend!

Great hostal with amazing staff! I had a pretty bad food poisoning but they took very well care of me: made sure I could go in the room right away, made me coca/ginger tea and orded special soup for me. Also, very clean hostal with amazing breakfast and very cute atmosphere.

Overall a very nice hostel. The breakfast was fantastic! The only issue was the staff- I had food poisoning and they were so inflexible that they wouldn't let me buy bottled water at night. After being at the hostel for only an hour after we checked out they harassed us and asked us to leave, even though I still had food poisoning and the previous day we had observed people laying on the couches and sleeping in the common area all day. The owner was rude in handling this situation.

    Very Good

I think the only reason people love this hostel is because of the breakfast and the dog. I expect more for what I paid... The wifi was practically nonexistent; it's Miraflores, not the Alpes. The staff didn't bother to learn my name and wouldn't sell me water after 11pm. There weren't enough tables, so my boyfriend and I ate breakfast on our beds. Our "private room" wasn't ready at check in and had 2 bunkbeds in it. The walls are paper-thin, so expect to hear your neighbor's snoring.
