Wonderful guesthouse. I was warmly welcomed and given a map with notable places to visit that were marked by hand. The open and closing times were written in too. Incredible. I would thoroughly recommend this place. If you don't like stairs or need a big room it isn't for you but everyone else it's a perfect place right within walking distance to most places!

Guesthouse Stella's incredible, the only place one should consider when visiting Kanazawa. The hostel itself is lovely and has awesome facilities. e.g hot showers, kitchen, multiple bathrooms, laundry (washer/dryer very cheap, free detergent), can also rent bikes cheap. Rooms are comfy and spacious. Whole hostel gets deep cleaned every morning always immaculate. Best part is Shuji the host, very friendly, super helpful and always going above and beyond accommodate you. This place rocks!

One of the best hostels I’ve stayed in!! During my stay, it was offseason so there weren’t a lot of guests. I initially booked for one bed; however, the owner Shuji-san was gracious enough to give me a bigger bedroom as it was not being used. Shuji-san was also one of the kindest people I’ve met on my trip. He offered to drive me to the sake brewery for my tour, and also offered to drive me to the train station when I checked out. He and his staff are super friendly and easily approachable!!

Fantastic little hostel. Located in the Higashi Chaya district (the old geisha district) with lots of places to walk to nearby. There's also an area to hike with tons of temples nearby. It's a but of a walk from the train station but the host provided detailed directions to get to the hostel. The owner was amazing! So helpful with discovering the local sites and extremely kind. He even gave me tips for the next stop on my trip. Hostel felt like home and was super clean and cozy.

A short walk to the heart of the Higashi Chaya District - you can go take photos in the morning, before the businesses and the crowds get rolling around 10am. The owner was very friendly, and gave me excellent advice for visiting Shirakawa-go the following day. The ramen shop he also recommended, which was near the hostel, was delicious. The hallways were a bit narrow, but my luggage was carry-on size only. Facilities were quite nice. Had a great time!

Pretty central to Kanazawa which is all very walkable. The hostel was a bit quiet when I was there, but the owner made sure to give me some good tips and was very helpful in planning my other travels. Ended up having an entire dorm to myself, the only slightly annoying this was the showers being through the common room on the bottom floor.
