And now finally for the review of all reviews.Kilkenny. This hostel is a " Must visit" guys. Very friendly, warm and welcoming Staff. Very clean and ample cooking facilities. Not sure if there was a guitar or not but the atmosphere here is really nice. Do visit this hostel.

Place is simple, old but clean and staff is friendly. Unfortunately, our room was directly above the front door where smokers gather, so it was a bit noisy even past midnight. Also, there’s a pub across the street with loud music, but stops around 11:30.

Staff went out of their way to make sure I got a suitable room, and were always friendly and chatty. It was a great place from which to explore Kilkenny.

I spent four nights in Kikenny and the Hostel. I loved it, I had only women or girls as roommates and it was. I am hetero-asexual by the way. The ground floor was very colourful and had good conversation with several travellers and even did a little networking with one bavarian girl whom I send text messages about companies in her line of business in my country and she even replied.

A cozy and comfortable place in the center of old Kilkenny. Towels are included (nice) and the showers warm. Kitchen, dining, and lounge are all well appointed. My only grumble would be the beds are kinda old and it is time to replace them. Oh and there are not enough lockers for the number of guests.

Perfect location to explore the city. Lot's of bars and shops nearby. Bathrooms were clean. The actual building is cute. The bed was comfy but a little dingy. I do wish there was plugs near the beds but there is a power strip with enough plugs for everyone to use. I like that there is a security code to get into the building. The doors are heavy and slam if you let them go to soon so going to the restroom at night is a task since it is in the hallway but I figured it out.

We loved this hostel, although we did have a worrying 10 minutes or so when we returned from a wedding party to find people already in the beds we had checked into earlier in the day. We all seemed to have keys for the same 4 bed room. It was sorted out quickly but not what we expected at 3am!

Really good location right near the city centre, historic sites and good pubs. Staff were pleasant. Not overly atmospheric but nice enough and kept clean and tidy.

Honestly don't know why this hostel has such a high rating. Building is cute but old, beds are like rocks and my "pillow" was a collection of pieces of fluff 😂. Liked that the front door had a code, but lockers aren't in the room (inconvenient), bathrooms are tiny and shared, no shelf for phones in bedroom and the place was just generally dirty all round. Was nice that they had a shared living area and staff were knowledgeable about Kilkenny and happy to accomodate, but not worth 9 stars.
