Kokopelli Hostel Cusco is a unique 200-year-old colonial-style house filled with energy. Combining culture and fun, our hostel has something happening every day: you'll get anything from games, live bands and DJs to BBQs on the terrace and Peruvian cooking classes. Mix and mingle with other travellers on our patio and bonfire area, or hang out in the garden's swaying hammocks – made even better with a couple of drinks! In the morning, a continental breakfast on us should help ease any lingering happy hour-induced headache.

Landing at Alejandro Velasco Astete International Airport? The easiest way to reach us is to grab a taxi – we're just a 17-minute drive away. If you give us a call we'll arrange to pick you up from either the airport or the main bus terminal, or you can easily walk to us from the latter in 16 minutes. Plaza de Armas (Parade Square), the buzzing centre of the city, is a 5-minute walk from the hostel where you'll find coffee shops and restaurants perfect for people watching and enjoying fantastic city views.

Rooms and Dorms

Our cushy beds have feather duvets in pod-style bunks with their own lights and plug sockets. Stay in a mixed or female-only dorm to meet other travellers, or treat yourself to a private room with an en-suite and towels. Select dorms have en-suites too, and you can hire towels from us. You'll find secure lockers with sockets for charging phones and tablets in all the dorms.

Extras and activities

While we like a good party, we're all for the down days too. Unwind with a game of pool or foosball in our games room – there's also a beer pong table if your team's up for the challenge. Or you can lounge in the TV room with sports on the big screen. We offer tons of freebies, from all-you-can-use Wi-Fi to tea and sandwiches at reception. For something more filling, pop up to our restaurant for a hot meal.

Kokopelli is a really nice hostel to stay at either for just one night or for a week. The staff is very friendly, the service is great, the beds are comfy, the atmosphere is really good with so many nice and interesting people and the breakfast is just amazing! I would always come back! One of the hostels I have stayed at!

Kokopeli has been amazing. Comfiest beds I’ve ever experienced at a hostel. Staff is wonderful, I’ve made great friends. Amazing location, very close to everything. One of the best things about this place is the food! I’ve never been to a hostel that had breakfast that’s more than a piece of toast and cereal. The chefs at Kokopeli are so damn good! Everything is sooo tasty. I will be back here!

I stayed here a week. Stuff is super friendly and helpful. Bag Storage as long as needed. Breakfast super delicious. Every evening is something different at the bar. Fun beerpong tournaments. Bar prizes are high, but there are cheaper options close to the hostel. Bathroom gets cleaned several times a day

Excellent hostel with excellent staff. One of the best hostels I stayed at, only downside, no kitchen.

This hostel was lovely. Super clean and really stylish, big rooms and multiple bathrooms so even if some were full there were others to use. Breakfast was so good, so much to choose from and it was buffet style. Restaurant offered food to buy, they had their own tour company which was useful and they gave you little free things at check in like 10% off the tours or free starters at some restaurants. Close to centre, very secure, no self catering stuff though.

I enjoyed staying here. The staff are friendly most of the time, although the check-in seems to take a long time. The breakfast is AMAZING for a hostel. Made-to-order omlettes, meats/cheeses/potatoes/fruits/vegetables, etc. The bar at night was always thriving, yet only until midnight. They have a tour booking desk in the lobby. Only complaint: their entire common areas were ALWAYS cold and drafty because of the open-air layout (...and Cuzco isn't tropical). Great location.

It's a great place with a nice feel to it. We had a private twin room which was fantastic - comfy beds, great bathroom, and a bonus option of early check in so we could sleep after a long journey. BUT - the noise one night was ridiculous. You don't have a garden - it's a courtyard, meaning it's surrounded on all sides; having people screaming at 1-1.30am in the morning when people are getting up early for trips is not ok. If you're a party hostel, ok - but you can't be both party and chilled.

This is a great hostel. Every facet has been really well thought out. Dorm beds with curtains, lights, power outlets, and storage space. Breakfast is great - choice of fried eggs, cereals, fruits and breads, and fresh watermelon and pineapple juice. And if you have an early trip planned that day, they'll pack you a breakfast box instead. The biggest downside for my is that it was the end of my tour and I was tired of socialising so I felt old - but everyone was friendly if you approached them.

Overall I enjoyed my stay in Kokopelli. The beds are very comfortable and the curtains give you some extra privacy. Anyway, the dorm I stayed in, did not have a window which can be musty when 8 people are sleeping. The breakfast is very good. Eggs, pancakes, fruits, different juices and tea for free all day long :) However I don’t understand why they only have plastic cups for the tea because during breakfast they have re-usable cups so I used my cup all day to avoid waste.

Average hostel. Perfect location and great security. Amazing breakfast. VERY loud, all night every night. Not enough bathrooms for everyone. Maids made the wrong bed and disposed of my phone charger. Delicious and cheap hostel restaurant.
