Overview

Kokopelli Hostel Cusco is a unique 200-year-old colonial-style house filled with energy. Combining culture and fun, our hostel has something happening every day: you'll get anything from games, live bands and DJs to BBQs on the terrace and Peruvian cooking classes. Mix and mingle with other travellers on our patio and bonfire area, or hang out in the garden's swaying hammocks – made even better with a couple of drinks! In the morning, a continental breakfast on us should help ease any lingering happy hour-induced headache.

Location

Landing at Alejandro Velasco Astete International Airport? The easiest way to reach us is to grab a taxi – we're just a 17-minute drive away. If you give us a call we'll arrange to pick you up from either the airport or the main bus terminal, or you can easily walk to us from the latter in 16 minutes. Plaza de Armas (Parade Square), the buzzing centre of the city, is a 5-minute walk from the hostel where you'll find coffee shops and restaurants perfect for people watching and enjoying fantastic city views.

Rooms and Dorms

Our cushy beds have feather duvets in pod-style bunks with their own lights and plug sockets. Stay in a mixed or female-only dorm to meet other travellers, or treat yourself to a private room with an en-suite and towels. Select dorms have en-suites too, and you can hire towels from us. You'll find secure lockers with sockets for charging phones and tablets in all the dorms.

Extras and activities

While we like a good party, we're all for the down days too. Unwind with a game of pool or foosball in our games room – there's also a beer pong table if your team's up for the challenge. Or you can lounge in the TV room with sports on the big screen. We offer tons of freebies, from all-you-can-use Wi-Fi to tea and sandwiches at reception. For something more filling, pop up to our restaurant for a hot meal.

Loved that they will even pack your breakfasts for your super early morning tours (4 am) which are very common in Cusco!!

Experience was good. Someone partied to hard and puked all over their bed. Staff was helpful and was within walking distance to everything. It’s a little hard to find if you get their at night.

The breakfast was really good. If you paid 5 soles for a sticker you could refill your water bottle as much as you wanted. The bar staff was really friendly and made you feel welcome. It’s a good place for solo travelers. I’d recommend the pod bed rooms instead of the regular ones though because the bunks are a little high and it can be noisy.

    Fabulous

Nice facilities, clean bathrooms, good location, hot showers, nice bunks. Most of the staff are nice but you get the occasional one that isn't - just hostels I guess. A little overpriced, it's a dorm bed afterall - 17$ is a bit much for a 8 bed dorm in Peru. Breakfast is nice and has eggs.

    Fabulous

    19 Nov 2019
Great location, clean facilities and excellent breakfast. For the price you pay, there is no kitchen so you’re forced to eat out or at the in-house restaurant which wasn’t suitable for long-term travelers like us. The bar is very loud so not ideal for people who have early morning tours (4am) which is very common. We felt this was a hostel for someone with a bigger budget who is in Cusco to party rather than doing daily activities.

    Very Good

    02 Dec 2019
Nice hostel but a bit overpriced. We had a private room which looked nice, good bathroom and comfy bed but the room was very cold! Also got woken up early everyday because we could hear staff outside the room talking. Probably the dorms are fine but wouldnt stay in a private again as it’s not great value for money when you are very cold!

    Very Good

    15 Nov 2019
Good facilities and breakfast. Staff were not the friendliest and didn’t speak good English on reception which is vital. Not enough reception staff either, took ages to check out. Also if you want to extend you had to move rooms each time, a massive inconvenience. Bar was small and had a weird vibe to it
