La Boheme was a great social hostel, loads of areas to sit and meet people. The staff were amazingly helpful. They hold activities every day, the cooking class run by Ardie was awesome! Breakfast included and pancake mix left out to make yourself after breakfast so you effectively get lunch too. The only downside is the toilets. Due to lack of water pressure they didn't always flush and you could find the toilets dirty from previous uses. They should leave scoop and buckets so guests can flush.

Inconvenience that theres no charging ports in the room you have to charge anything at the bar and thats the only place you can. Rooms a bit dirty but liveable Hostel itself is so quirky with the beanbags amazing views! Food was delicious! Free pancakes were a nice touch (although needs to be amended from 24h online to just breakfast) Beware of the mosquitos Just used this place as a base for the komodo dragon trip and was worth it for that

Speakers from neighbouring mosque very loud at 4am, rooms get very hot our room mates left the doors and windows wide open so didn't feel very safe or private as they curtains and we did not. Water pressure was low, we asked for a taxi they said yes left us waiting for over an hour to then be told they couldn't get hold of one. They had lots of trips available that looked good value for money but we never went on one. Breakfast was ok.

This hostel was the closest i’ve been to a jail cell, by far the most uncomfortable bed that I’ve ever slept in. No AC, the room smelled like feet and the mattress, well if you can even call it a mattress was a nightmare. I ended up moving to one of the hammocks to try to get some sleep but the local mosque imams decided to call for prayer over their loudspeakers at 4am. Their kitchen on the other hand was wonderful. Atmosphere in the common areas were nice too. Wouldn’t couldn’t sleep here

If you are not a backpacker on a low budget do not come here. The hostel is located in the middle of Favela. Rooms are ok, no hot water at all, almost no pressure, towels look more like rags, no soap provided, no toilet paper anywhere. There is almost no roof so if it rains expect the entire area get flooded. Your stuff from the fridge gets stolen. Local hard liquor is a moonshine. Staff is pretty helpful tho so it’s not their fault. Would not come back here
