My husband and I loved staying at Hostel Casa Cuenca. The owner, Martha, and her staff are wonderful. Martha actually runs three facilities for Casa Cuenca on the same street. We had a room and a private bath. A window opened up both to a shared courtyard and the open air which we appreciated. We even heard bird song each morning. We also saw some of the rooms in Martha's other buildings which have beautiful wall paintings. The central location is perfect! I highly recommend CC!

The owner gave us a free upgrade when we booked the room with a share toilet. There was hot water, good bed and strong WiFi. Really good place to stay

Good hostel, struggled to check in as no one answered the door for a while. The shared bathroom was up a flight of stairs from our room so it was a bit annoying. Overall great stay, wifi works fairly well. Good location. Room very small, not much space for luggage. Would recommend.

A very small tucked away hostel run by a mother and son who are very nice and helpful. The son speaks English very well and the mother only speaks Spanish. It's a very warm and welcoming place. It is very quite, except for the street noise at night. The room I stayed in had a balcony that I enjoyed spending many mornings and evenings watching the goings on below me. The kitchen is very basic with only the bare necessities, no microwave. The room does not have lockers. The shower is Luke warm.

Overall good value. Great location and comfortable bed. The room was clean but very rundown (cracks in the floor and ceiling, broken window vent in the bathroom). The staff was nice when I could find them, but multiple times I was unable to locate them after ringing the bell and waited 15-20 minutes for someone to arrive. The hostel seemed deserted (I may have been the only guest or there might have been one other guest), but perhaps the atmosphere is better when there are more guests there.

Great location just off the main Street Calle Larga. Facilities are fairly basic but good value for the price. Breakfast is not included but there is a really good place for breakfast across the street called Helados - they do amazing bagels.

    Very Good

We stayed in private double room in a separate entrance to the main hostel, this block was very clean and a pleasure to stay in. However we spent the afternoon in the main block on the day we left whilst waiting for a bus, if we’d have been staying in this block we wouldn’t have been too happy, seemed pretty dirty. But we can’t complain about the block we stayed in, was very nice and would go back there again!

Confusing to find and check in. No vibes, paper thin walls and a room with things left from the previous guests. Not great, but good location.

We arrived at the specified time bht the place was deserted, someone finally arrived to greet us who spoke no english and Knew nothing of our reservation. We got the right room eventually and found the bed sheets hadnt been changed - covered in other people's hair (as were the towels). The ceiling was falling apart. For the next two days we didn't see a single member of staff and no one else was staying there. We couldn't even check out and pay because no one was there! Terrible hostel.
