Very good place to be outside of Cancun, just 30/35min drive by collectivo. Elisa is very friendly, and helpfull to know what we can do around and how to get there. The hostel is very friendly, with just a 6 shared bed dorm ++++

'La pausa' Hostel Puerto Morelos is ... Super. I stayed in many hostels; this at the top. Let's s start with the people: extraordinary: The owner comes and welcomes everyone (despite her busy schedule,, pregnant and taking care of her small daughter). This 'all you need' hostel is 2 minutes from the most secluded part of the beach: walk to the corner, see the ocean, there's an entrance very close. All people working here greet you all the time w. a smile. They also help if any question.

I really enjoyed meeting the owners, their beautiful children, and the other guests. The house is very close to restaurants and shopping but is located on a quiet residential street. It was perfect for me.

We had two great nights at the hostel. The private apartment was good for our family of two adults, two kids. The beach is just around the corner and the staff was super helpful and responsive. Would definitely stay again.

The apartment itself is a great deal, clean, and big, but sheets had holes and stains. Common areas are run down odd smells of Garbage, plumbing, and maybe burning garbage ? Close to the park center but street near hostel looks a bit sketchy. But for $30, a whole apt isa good value.

    Very Good

The location was great, close to beach and down town. The hostal was a bit rough around the edges and felt more like a boarding house than a hostal but the staff were friendly enough. Only one shower for dozens of people. Asked for tips about snorkeling and cenotes and was told to look it up online. It felt like we were crashing at the house of a distant relative we never met before- we had the basics of what we needed but there wasn't much hospitality or social interaction.

This hostel has good potential but it didn't feel quite there yet. There's no sign outside so I walked up and down the road a few times confused before a campervan owner pointed me to it. The staff were lovely but there wasn't anyone on reception the whole time I was there. I was asked to try and avoid using the kitchen because the cleaners was coming the next morning which is an odd policy. It was in no way a bad experience but it could have been better.

Staff was really sweet! However the beds were very shaky and mattresses were very hard. The A/C didn’t manage to cool the room for sleeping. The bathroom was very dirty. The hostel is not a catastrophe, but the price is too high for what you get!

Money was stolen ($375), afraid to touch anything in the kitchen, moldy ceiling in bathroom.
