This is along my favorite hostels I've ever stayed at. The staff are great; not just for general advice but for chatting and socializing as well. Make use of the great outdoor seating and bar/restaurant - especially for the Saturday BBQs. The location is perfect - right off the lake and near Menaggio's port. The rooms themselves are a little tight and basic but fine. Finally, if you like outdoor activities, ask about Alberto - canyoning in Lenno was a absolute blast!

A great hostel! Very friendly staff and clean rooms. Our only complaint was that our room was right above the kitchen so it was always quite warm- the fan barely helped. The location and hostel itself were great. Thank you!

Had a great atmosphere! At night the restaurant/ bar part of the hostel was full of people and very inviting. The hostel offer home cooked meals for dinner for around 8€ which are very delicious. It has a beautiful view and is in a central location in Menaggio. It is easy to get to from Como - just one bus for about an hour. The bunks are somewhat flimsy, our room smelt of smoke and shower cubicles are TINY, however the atmosphere and views make up for it.

Lake Como Hostel is well situated and very convenient as it comes with a restaurant/breakfast room where guests eat, play the numerous boardgames available, read or sit around the bar to chat. It has a welcoming and friendly atmosphere. Although the majority of guests seemed between 20 and 30, the age range varied with some very fit and interesting older guests. The hostel is close to town, bus stop and ferry.

Great location and value for the price. Stayed in female dorm. Bed comfy enough. View from balcony awesome. Shower hot but tiny. Close to ferry to varenna and Bellaggio. Plenty of staff-suggested things to do. Would stay again.

Beautiful location with accessibility to Bellagio and other towns accessible by ferry and bus. Overlooks beautiful lake Como and the rooms were pretty spacious for a hostel. Staff were friendly and helpful most of the time. Restaurant and bar downstairs were a good atmosphere. Only complaint was food poisoning of two people in our room that had gotten it from eating at the restaurant. Other than that, good value for money but not many facilities.

Loved the place and location. The views and boat trips were breathtaking. The hostel was ok. The rooms were really standard. It did have an amazing bar and restaurant area though and the atmosphere was good. The staff were also really kind and helpful.

    Very Good

The staff that works there are welcoming and friendly! The view is beautiful! The six person mixed dorm was incredibly small...I slept with my suitcase on my bed, the lockers are big enough for a purse and if you're walking, this is up about a 100 meter step hill. I'm very sad to report that the cleanliness, dark corridors that could easily have light, an unmarked step going up to the toilets and the women's shower being on a different floor gave me reason to leave after one night.

Hostel was nice enough, easy to get to on the C10 bus from Como station but it does take over an hour. The room was very small for 6 people and extremely hot, but adequate. Showers also tiny and not many toilets. There isn’t a communal kitchen but there’s a restaurant. There isn’t really a lot in the immediate area, but the ferries run across to Bellagio etc. We booked for 2 nights but actually only ended up staying for 1, as the weather was really bad and we couldn’t really do anything.

Avoid is possible. Myself and one of my room mates got food poisoning on the first night we stayed here after we ate from the hostels restaurant. I politely told the staff at the front counter the next day, as I thought they should know we are sick. They were completely unhelpful and rude. Didn’t even offer us where we could contact a pharmacy or doctor. They didn’t care. My bed sheets were also ripped, and the dorm space is extremely small, can barely move in the dorm room. I wouldn’t stay.
