Coming to Australia from South East Asia as a solo traveller on the Working Holiday Visa, I was looking for somewhere safe, comfortable, and full of nice fun people, and I definitely found all that with Landing Pads! Right from arrival I was made to feel comfortable and part of the crew. It is clean, safe, and you feel welcome toask for help with anything while figuring out your new Aussie life. As bonus, the environment (daily activities and great common spaces) make it really easy to make pals!

Out of all the hostels I've ever stayed at in my entire life, I have never found it as easy to make friends as I have at LP. If you're coming to Aus on a WHV, you have to stay here. Period. Best vibes, best staff, best location, it's all the best I promise you. They help you find a job, there's scheduled group events everyday, family dinner in Tuesdays. I just had the best Sunday roast of my life there three days ago (disclaimer: there is not always a Sunday roast, but still come stay here). Ya.

Best hostel I've stayed at! Extended my stay because it was THAT good. Loved having my own fridge/food space! Rooms are cozy, clean, and comfortable. Kitchen/common areas/bathrooms are thoroughly cleaned daily. Adore the relaxed vibe, easygoing guests, and friendly staff - so easy to make friends! Great weekly activities: family dinner/games/movie nights, job help, and city outings. Shout-out to Jonathan and the other LP staff for being so welcoming! Would 100% stay here again. Highly recommend.

Best place I've stayed at in Melbourne. It's a working hostel so it doesn't get too loud during the week since we all have work the next morning, but we definitely have our fun during the weekends. There are weekly events for everyone to socialize and meet new people. Great place and amazing people. 10/10 would highly recommend.

I've LOVED staying in Landing Pads. First stop in Melbourne and ending up staying here for 2 months while working. All the staff are so welcoming, Steve the house captain during my stay organised events in the hostel like movie nights, games night and family dinners which makes it super easy to settle in and meet people. It feels so secure and homely. Definitely would recommend to any traveller in Melbourne if you're looking for a more chilled vibe but also an unreal time in Melbourne.

Really pleasant, long term working hostel - staff are awesome, good location in Melbourne (distance to CBD is walkable) made many good friends. Daily events are a great way to get everyone involved.

Great: Staff are attentive; people are very friendly. Nice 30min walk into CBD through Fitzroy Garden; other hip suburbs accessible. Tram and train stations close by. Local general store provided affordable sundries. Library is walking distance for good internet access. Social activities planned weekly. 24h SMS service. Bad: Cleaning time from 9-11am is awkward. Wi-Fi slow; stoves old. No aircon. Staff sometimes busy with other tasks during already short office hours.

Thought LP was overrated. Excellent with its culture of guests. Very easy to make friends. Nice personal touches from the hostel, personal bags and bins for groceries and such. But it's an old building. The room was small and had that typical moldy foul smell found in many Aussie hostels. Could feel the springs in the bed. Cleaning times in the kitchen and common areas were inconvenient and staff made you feel like you were in the way. Kitchen and common area are way too small and cramped.
