Property Description

The Grand Tour of Switzerland, which brings together the highlights of Switzerland in one journey, naturally stops in Lausanne. This dynamic city, built on three hills, nestles up against the vineyards of Lavaux and majestically overlooks the shimmering expanse of Lake Geneva. Its medieval city centre, with its narrow alleyways and early Gothic cathedral, is sure to inspire guests just as much as the waterside promenade and the large parks in the port district of Ouchy. As the beacon of the Olympic movement, Lausanne is home to the interactive Olympic Museum. You can reach all of these attractions conveniently by public transport from the Jeunotel, which guarantees relaxation right on the lake shore thanks to its inner courtyards. View House Rules

The hostel was a little out of the way in terms of the city center but its location was still very beautiful as it was right by the water and this field of Roman ruins. Plus they give you a transportation card that lets you use the Lausanne buses and metro for free during your stay so it wasn't an issue at all. The facilities were very clean and modern feeling, lots of spaces to hang out and a generally great atmosphere. Reception was very welcoming, overall a great stay

Love this place. The location, while not in the center of town, is super close to the lake and right next to the beautiful cemetery. I would recommend this to anybody visiting Lausanne, not only because it's price is probably the best in town, but also it is truly a nice place to stay.

Wonderful staff always helpful. Great breakfast. Only thing is it is very far from anything. Have to venture out pretty far. Takes time.

Very nice place, clean and modern. Cool garden and amenities. There aren't that many shared bathrooms if you are in a dorm in my opinion..... it's Switzerlsnd but 50 chf per night is a bit too much for a dorm....

Great hostel in and of itself, a bit far from the town center but nothing major. Pretty much everything was fine and it was weird being one of the younger people in a hostel for a change. Not sure about security: one of the other people in the room was apparently scared of the dark and couldn’t sleep with the door closed, a fact I found out when I woke up at 3AM. I’d have thought a preliminary prowl through the building would be a requirement. Would stay again, though, maybe for longer.

    Very Good

The hostel provided a great breakfast buffet. The rooms are spacious, but do not have individual lockers. One has to disconnect the lamps and use their sockets to charge personal electronic devices by the individual beds (they are out of sight under cement slabs). The hostel is situated away from the city centre, but it's very close to a bus station, which made commute easier. The hostel also gives you a transport card which exempts you from paying for bus and metro rides.

Not your traditional hostel. More like a hotel with a cafeteria. It's not like many hostels out there that try to create a good atmosphere and common area for travelers to hang out and meet. There's a bar and seating area but it's just that and that only. It's expensive but that's just Switzerland perhaps. As for the facilities, there isn't a kitchen for storing food and preparing meals. The breakfast was great though. Staff were nice. Rooms were clean. No serious complaints.
