Okay this hostel might not have the amenities like some do (ie, washer/dryer, kitchen) but this hostel is amazing. Super old chalet style home with amazing views of the Mont Blanc glacier. Breakfast is included and is traditional French and you get to talk to the sweetest host ever Ella (she’s a gem of a human and knows everything about Chamonix and honestly everything else, too— ask her anything!) would definitely stay here again just to see Ella and ski in the winter. Love u Ella

Le Vagabond was the perfect place to stay for a long weekend in Chamonix. The staff were very friendly and accommodating with leaving baggage at the hostel before check-in. They had great advice on where to check out in the city during Fete de la Musique and recommendations on trails and current trail conditions. The rooms were clean and the bathrooms and showers were recently updated and surpassed expectations. Would definitely stay here again.

Do yourself a favor and stay here!!!! I didn’t think I’d meet many people in Chamonix but this place draws awesome folks. Its small, homey, and run by some really great people. The bar is a lot of fun to just sit and chat with locals during happy hour after a day of hiking or climbing. I needed to change my reservation last minute and they were really accommodating! I wished I could’ve stayed longer!

Everything was great, including Ela's positive energy. It's time to oil the squeaky hinges (WC, etc.). A detail that once done, will last until eternity;) Thanks for your warm hospitality! I will definitely return.

WE LOVED OUR TIME AT THE VAGABOND. It has an amazing location so close to the bus stop. Ella the host is delightful, and she will give you advice and help on all the hikes and places to see and go. The breakfast was amazing, and the conversation even better. The view of the peaks from our bedroom window and from the deck is unmatched. We were worried about the shower and bathroom situation but it was all great! Tere are 4 very clean showers, and the toilets were exceptional as well. 10/10 stay.

Le Vagabond was quaint and the staff was very nice and accommodating. The complimentary breakfast every morning was always filled with great conversation with the staff and guests and the downstairs bar was a great place to end each day and talk about your travels with the fellow guests. The only downside to this hostel was the lack of outlets in the rooms. There was only one outlet in a room for four. Overall, great experience!

I had a fantastic stay here! This hostel is in a great location as it's a short walk from Chamonix centre as well as the cable cars. Everyone here is really nice and you can have great chats with people and make friends! The free breakfast was awesome! Thanks for making my stay enjoyable!

This was a great location with an easy walk to downtown Chamonix. A small was included on my visit, although the 8-9 window was rather limiting. There is only one outlet per room, and only two toilets available 24/7 that I was aware of unless there were others in rooms. Other than that, I met very nice and interesting people on my stay and would recommend it.

This hostel is conveniently placed near the Bus Station, which made it a short walk after spending hours on a bus. The outside bar area is nice for enjoying a beer whilst enjoying a great view of the mint Blanc massif. The dorm rooms are old and there was unidentified debris on my bed. There was only one electrical socket for an 8 bed dorm. It cost around 4 Euro for me to rent a hand-towel sized towel for my shower. There are other hostels in the area that are cleaner and more comf
