Overview

Experience the bustle of Beijing from Leo Hostel's central location. You can taste local brews at our quirky on-site bar, and there's a pool table for when you get some beer-fuelled confidence. We love to show you what Chinese culture is all about, so you're invited to dumpling parties and traditional tea ceremonies. Our English-speaking staff are at reception 24/7 and can arrange epic tours to the Great Wall, too. For laid-back evenings after full-on days at the Summer Palace, relax with a board game or in front of a movie.

Location

If culture and history are at the top of your list, you’re well placed here. The Forbidden City, Tiananmen Square and the Palace Museum are all within 30 minutes on foot. No visit is complete without seeing the city’s famous hutongs – Zhuanta Hutong is the most ancient (about 700 years old) and is 6.6km away. From the airport, you can take the subway to DongZhiMen, get off at QianMen and walk for about 10 minutes to the hostel. You can also reach QianMen subway stop from Beijing Railway Station and Beijing South Railway Station.

Rooms and Dorms

Whether you book a shared dorm or private room, you’ll have a soft mattress and clean linen every day. Our housekeeping team keeps everything spick and span, and we have air con to keep you cool when the summer gets sticky. Wake up to a hot shower – we've got towels and hairdryers to hire if you need them – and lockers on hand to keep your valuables safely stowed.

Extras and activities

Love Chinese cuisine? You can try authentic (as well as Western) dishes in our restaurant. If you fancy some downtime, browse our book exchange for a new read, catch up on world events with our daily English newspapers or check out your feeds on our free Wi-Fi. There's a lot to see in Beijing, so hire one of our bikes and make like a local.

I really enjoyed my stay there luckily thanks to the awesome people I met and spend my time with. Dorms are really inegal, mine was very good with plenty of place but others were so small guests have to let their stuff outside in the passage way and smelly because of the shower inside. Bar and restaurant area is nice and prices are ok but it miss a real atmosphere to make it easy to meet other people, too bad. Still, it is one of the cheapeat hostel in Beijin so it is great value for money.

Not all showers worked. Upstairs restroom has only one toilet paper roll for all 4 toilets and there was not always toilet paper. You are not allowed to use the kitchen to store food or to bring in outside food or drinks and eat them in the dining area. Beds don’t have mattresses, its like a cushion pad. Location is great.

    - Sometimes the staff is helpful sometimes not, it will really depends on who you asking for. - Nowhere was it written that it is a party hostel and while sign were asking to be respectful from 10pm to 8 am, the rule wasn't enforced at all which led to some really noisy night. -The great wall tour your was really cool. - Cleaning was really depending on the area, my first room wasn't good (smell of humidity, dust etc...) The second one was much better.

Staff could use some work, overall not very friendly. Had to move here because 365 hostel was all booked up and I couldn't extend. Bathrooms were pretty dirty, internet was in and out, and overall not the greatest place. Spent one night, and wouldn't stay again.

A very BAD hostel!! in the best neighborhood of Beijing! It is a dirty hostel, with very bad rooms (dirty walls etc), the whole place so old and so neglected that even if it was clean you couldnt see it, the bar place is very unpleasant and dark to sit/calm there and the list goes on. The staff, althought polite in general, they dont know english-you cannot comunicate properly. However it is in the best place ever to discover Beijing and this is important for such a huge city.

They don't clean bathrooms and toilets. Everytime, I went to the bathrooms we hadn't enough water to take a bath. in the final day, tilets overflowed. They provided a damaged bed for me. I have the experiences in other hostel world hotels in Shanghai, Guangzhou and Chengdu. They are very good than this hotel. You should check this hotel to confirm what I say here.

No cleaning toilets and a few toilet facilities for a larger crowd. Broken beds. Bad smell. No proper maintenance of the building.
