This was a really great and clean hostel. The staff was really friendly and helped me book my safari to Yala. They were very welcoming from the start. The owner even offered to drive me to my next location, Tangalle, because he was heading that way. Thank you for a great stay and all your help!

A friend and I stayed at the hostel for three nights in a standard twin room - it was great! The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, the food (we had breakfast and a dinner there) was good, and the room was nice and clean. The hostel is close to both the bus station and the lakes. It was very easy to organize a tour to both Yala and Udawalawe National Parks through the hostel. We really enjoyed or stay and it was a great value for what we payed.

Located in on a beautiful estate. I was able to book a tour with Mahesh. He even drove me to the bank and to get mosquito repellent. Kind staff, a great opportunity to see something different than standard hostel dorms.

The guys here were super nice and made sure I had everything I needed, organized my Yala safari for me too. If you only in town for a night or two then this place is great.

I have booked the rooms wrongly, However the hostel staff has helped us to arrange and let us stay without any hustle. The Dulex twin room is very comfortable and we enjoy our stay there. The only thing that irritate us the fact that someone else took our jeep to the Safari tour (which we have bargained for reasonable price) and we have to pay more to the Safari tour guy from the hostel without letting us fix the confusion. Try to get more options for Safari tour.

    Very Good

Nice hostel, staff mostly very friendly and helpful. Beds are comfy, bathrooms are clean. Was particularly grateful when we were brought coffee at 4.30am before our safari tour left at 4.45am. Main issue was the way they treated the dogs that live there. There were two puppies of different ages, one with a damaged back leg. No one seemed to feed or care for them, both covered in ticks and fleas. The staff would throw the dogs off chairs or away from the patio and the dogs would scream.

Not much going on in Tissa other than safari and this hostel kind of matches that, basic accommodation, nothing special. They will organise safari for you which is good though.

I booked this hostel on the site, but when I arrived they shouted in my face that I'm a liar. I showed them the confirmation email, but staff was too stoned to understand. At first they claimed all the beds were full, but later it became clear there was only 1 other person staying at the hostel. The location is terrible. There is no food around and no rickshaws passing by. The only option is to get on the stoned staff's bike and ride with him. Decling this results in extreme verbal abuse.

This place was absolutely terrible. Filthy dirty. The kitchen was piled high with unclean dishes. Staff sat around making no attempt to clean. No aircon or fan. Too hot to sleep. They only want to sell safari.
