This place was amazing. Rooms were nice, plenty of couches to lounge around and the staff was amazing. We only had one night booked and stayed an extra two. It’s a little down the road from the city center but that’s a plus. The city is very noisy and chaotic. You will sleep like a baby here. Now if you like to party the owner Nelson will take you out in the city and you will have the time of your life. Also there’s a pool here! If you’re in Arusha, this is the place to stay!!

I saw in the previous reviews that the place was a bit far but I find this an advantage; nobody hassles you , there are local bars and restaurants and you live the African way. The dalladallas going to town are nearby , it is the first and last stops so you always get a sit. Great place !

Stayed a total of three nights at Lionsgate and can’t recommend it enough! It’s quite far away from town center (took me 45min to walk from the bus station) but you can get a boda-boda for TSh 3000 (£1). Apart from that, the hostel is great. It was almost completely empty (high season is May to September), but the rooms are clean, the shower has hot water, and the plugs work. Further, there is free brekkie, a delicious free dinner + Nelson and the boys are fantastic hosts!

The place was a bit confusing to find, but we enjoyed our stay and the staff made us a lovely dinner when we arrived for only 5000 shillings, and free breakfast in the morning. We would stay there again!

Very warm and nice atmosphere, friendly people and amazing vibe with all the people who live there. It feels like one big family! Located nicely and a cool swimming pool. It was so nice that I booked twice! Cheers to Nelson, Elias and the others!

I booked three nights, ended up staying five. A bit out of the way which can be good if you don't want to be woken up by the city's traffic noise. You have a pool, nice staff, a little store at the corner, complimentary breakfast and dinner and the dala dala stops outside the door.

Very friendly and welcoming staff, made us feel like home. Our door had difficulty locking and the windows don’t completely shut. They do provide mosquito nets. It’s a budget hostel so you get what you expect.

Near-ish the city centre, hot water when asked for, and super friendly staff. Helpful in organising safaris or mountain climbing and 3 meals a day included!

Our bedroom opened up onto the courtyard and at 11pm lots of locals seemed to pile in and play loud music through speakers right outside our room until the early hours. Lots of mosquitos IN the net over our bed when we first arrived - maybe next time they should put the nets up to stop mosquitos becoming trapped before the guests even arrive

The location is very bad, hard to drive there, super bumpy roads. The place was dirty, some renovation was happening there. The photos from website do not reflect reality. Poor beds quality, very small room. Limited breakfast options. Do not recommend unless you want something cheap, with limited budget.
