Hostelworld says

Lisbon Old Town Hostel is highly rated on our site for both their atmosphere and their location. One Hostelworld user said the hostel is 'very central, especially when you like to [visit] nice restaurants and bars during the evening/night-time, because it's directly in the famous quarter of Bairro Alto!' Other visitors praise the 'wonderful' staff who are 'always kind and helpful' and the 'cosy atmosphere' of this hostel with 'a lot of charm'. We like their spacious dorm rooms, giving guests plenty of space to lay out their luggage.

Such a great hostel! Staff and volunteers were super friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere was social and welcoming. Everything was clean and organised. Met some lovely people in the female dorm. Free breakfast was good and they also provided free wine, cheese and bread one night which was lovely. Definitely recommend for any length of stay.

I loved my stay at Lisbon Old Town Hostel. The location is great (slightly difficult to locate when you first arrive but otherwise it's very central), rooms are no-frills but very clean. The staff were also helpful and friendly, especially Gonzalo. The pub crawl offered by the hostel was fun too.

Special thanks to Gonzalo and Rachel who were so friendly and helped us with everything we needed. Location is perfect as all the bars, shops and restaurants are very near. The hostel itself is good, nothing too out of the ordinary, but definitely gets the job done and checks all the boxes. But the staff is what makes it amazing -- very welcoming and helpful.

The entire staff was incredibly friendly. The nightly events in the hostel made it easy to find friends, as well as the daily morning walking tours. I felt safe and clean, which is the most important to me. Loved the welcoming atmosphere and I would definitely stay again. I stayed in a 6-bed dorm and the room was huge. Also the lockers fit all my stuff.

Everything was perfect during our stay at Old town Hostel Lisbon. The staff were welcoming and warm, making you feel at home. The bathroom facility were a little below average , with no place to change after your shower. Other than that we LOVED our stay.

The loveliest staff. And terrible bathrooms. Please please build separate toilets or at least install a fan. Trying to have a shower when everything is open is shall we say breathtaking.

Lisbon Old Town Hostel says

We have a lot of extras here, like big doses of sympathy, coziness and friendship! Though for us these are not really extras... Everything in our hostel is at the disposal of our guests. We have three lovely common rooms with couches, cushions, puffs, TV, DVDs, CDs, books, computers, a guitar and brain teasers. Our kitchen is like a mom\'s kitchen, with all the tools that one needs to cook. So there is no excuse to spoil the dish. ;) From the printer to painkillers, our guests really have access to everything! We give maps and the best tips for all the areas in and around Lisbon and we are always up for looking up for some extra information. Our breakfast lasts the whoooole day and sometimes we organise delicious dinners for the guests!
But what really puts us ahead is the staff. We're not working for the clients of the hostel - we're receiving friends into our home! We are a family, and the guests easily feel it and make part of it. When people say we go beyond ourselves to help them, it\'s truly like that. If they have a problem, from the moment we know it it becomes our problem too, and we will do absolutely everything we can to fix it. Besides, we know Lisbon like the palm of our hands and our clients benefit from it a lot. And we don't just recommend places to go - we go there together!
The houses in the centre of Lisbon are old and not prepared to receive people with some kinds of disabilities but we've managed to create an infrastucture prepared to receive people who use a wheelchair and we would do anything to make everyone\'s stay memorable.
