Great place! Almost with i had gotten a tree house. Very cool owner. Awesome spot to rest. A bit away from town, but perfect if you have your own car. Good for cyclists having an overnight, though bring food or ride 3 miles into town.

The location is amazing! Usually it’s hard to get to remote places like this when you’re travelling without a car, but if you request in advance, you can be picked up and dropped off at the train station. Definitely hire an electric bike there, take a map and go check out the local area! The staff at the lodge and all the locals that I ran into were so nice and welcoming, it’s been the highlight of my trip so far!

The cleanest, most delightful campsite, with clean fresh cabins and cute tree houses. The breakfast and dinner must be requested three days before arrival but are fascinating and well done.It is clean and the staff are extremely kind and friendly. Yuki-san speaks and writes English if you require it. The dormitory style cabins sleep 8 with fresh futons, sheets, and the walls are lined with hinoki wood(cedar,I think). The shower is clean, the toilet has a bidet seat and is clean and fresh.

Had a wonderful stay! Yuki was so helpful and patient answering my questions and helping me plan for over an hour. Kiyokawa doesn't have much but it does have gorgeous country scenery, some beautiful waterfalls, and a relaxing atmosphere. There isn't even a convenience store but it does have an amazing local teppanyaki restaurant / butcher shop with local beef. The hostel itself was as clean and beautiful as you see in the pictures. Would highly recommend!

Yuki and Alex are legends! The most hospitable, helpful and friendly staff. The location is excellent! If you contact them ahead of time they can usually arrange a pick up and drop off from the train station. If you have more then 2 nights to spare on your travels, stay here to rejuvenate your senses. We would probably have stayed a week given the time. Listening to crickets and the river as you slowly drift off to sleep in the tree house, while singing a donkeys yule in the moonlight is perfect
