Here at Lybeer Travellers' Hostel, we like to think of ourselves as your home from home in Bruges. We're all about having fun and meeting new people, plus we have lovely friendly staff! Try the huge range of Belgian beers in our bar (they're the cheapest speciality brews in town during our daily happy hour) or sing for your free beer on karaoke night. We also host a BBQ on our outdoor terrace every day – just bring your own meat or vegetables.

We've got a sweet location in the centre of Bruges, near the West Quarter. Trains arrive into Brugge Station, a 12-minute walk away or 8 minutes if you take bus lines 1, 6, 13, 14 or 16 – just make sure you're heading to Korte Vuldersstraat and not Vuldersstraat! A 7-minute stroll along the cobbles takes you to the main Markt square, surrounded by chocolate shops, cafés, restaurants and the medieval Belfry. You can climb to the top of the tower for views across the city.

Rooms and Dorms

We may be in a picturesque historic building, but our rooms are brand new. Pick a bunk in the shared or female-only dorms – they're lined up horizontally with plenty of privacy – or bask in a bit more personal space in your own room with a deluxe en-suite. Either way you'll stay comfy in beds covered with fresh linen. In the morning, hire a towel from us and jump in a hot shower before heading out.

Extras and activities

We've got plenty going on, from masquerade parties and pub quizzes to beer tasting events – and you'll get a free full glass with every five tasters you order. During the day, wander around the town with us on our free walking tour (there are two each day). If you want to explore on your own, our multilingual staff have free maps for you. And, from the comfort of the lounge, you can use our free Wi-Fi to research where the best or most authentic bars are.

Lybeer Traveller’s hostel is a luxury hostel which is very good value for money. The atmosphere is great and the bar and sitting area are comfortable. I found it was a very welcoming hostel and met a lot of amazing people there. It’s in a prime location to the rest of Bruges and I highly recommend it! No complaints!!

Great location, friendly people. The rooms could be better. The one we got was on the last floor and it was cold.

Stayed in this historic building for a long weekend & enjoyed it very much. Kitchen & bar area facilities were nice with outdoor decks & some beautiful artwork. Free tea & coffee til midnight. Large fridge to store food, oven, hobs, & plenty of cooking/dining equipment. Staff were generally friendly. Our twin room was comfortable with lovely shower & it was mostly peaceful at night when we stayed. A few basic repairs to be done around the place as a whole. I would definitely return.

The day of my arrival was good, the female receptionist was kind to share important details. However, the person at the desk the morning I left was a bit not kind, which led to the review. Hostel clean, and secure. Bed I stayed at seemed like a shoe box, barely enough room to fit at the compartment where the mixed bedroom was.

We loved our stay and would definitely return but without sounding like a diva, I've stayed in a few hostels and have never had to dress the bed upon arrival so I found that odd. Also there was no atmosphere since it was low season and we were not aware there were no events because of that. The stairs are SUPER steep going up to the rooms but the rooms are really nice and clean as are the bathrooms. I think that was one of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept on! Thanks Lybeer.

    Very Good

YUP: Great value for money, a few minutes walk from both station and town centre. Good assortment of Belgian beers at the bar and self catering area. Receptionists super nice! MEH:Two toilets, one of which with shower, per floor are a bit too little. NOPE: Each bed comes with a small locker for valuables, but...all the locks in my room were broken!

There wasn’t any way to lock up your personal items. There was only one usable shower on my floor and that had the only toilet. I had to go to different floors to use the bathroom! The stairs are super steep, not that that was an issue, but be prepared to a small hike. The hostel didn’t seem like a party hostel, which was kind of nice. It’s perfectly located tho, so it’s worth the trash bathroom situation.

The location was good, but we were REALLY disappointed because they said they’d bring us our sheet covers and never did. By the time we were at the hostel at night, we didn’t know where to sleep and the reception was closed so we couldn’t contact anyone.
