Property Description

Welcome to MEININGER Bruxelles Gare du Midi

MEININGER Bruxelles Gare du Midi is a great base from which any traveller can explore the city of Brussels. The hotel is located in charming neighbourhood of Anderlecht, in the southern part of Brussels. The building itself is fantastic inside and offers 150 rooms and 678 beds.

Like all MEININGER hotels, this one offers super public transport connections to all over Brussels. Gare Du Midi train station is just 5 minutes´ from the hotel and from here you can get trains to not only great destinations in the city, but to all over Belgium and to other countries (the Eurostar stops here). Brussels Central Station is just 3 minutes on the train from Gare Du Midi. Also, Zuidstation underground is very close to the hotel and is great for connecting via the subway to numerous landmarks, restaurants, parks and neighbourhoods.

Brussels is home to some truly stunning museums and this hotel is very well connected to all of the major ones. The Magritte Museum is a particular delight to visit- it is a shrine to the artist René Magritte, who was one of the great surrealists of his generation. Located in the neighbourhood of Zavel, closer to the city center, and just a 15 minute journey from the hotel, it is a great option for families. The museum itself is one of six museums that make up the 'The Royal Museums of Fine Arts of Belgium'.

If you are looking for a breath of fresh air and some green space to have a picnic, then there are some great options in the local vicinity. Plaine de Jeux Pierre Paulus is just 1.8km from the hotel whilst the larger Parc de Forest is just a little further south. You can also discover the nearby Halle Gate- a medieval fortified city gate dating back to the 14th century.

AMAZING!!! Much more than I expected! The hotel is much more beautiful than shown in the photos. fancy, super clean, although the neighborhood is not very safe the Hotel is super safe. Unfortunately I didn't look at the receptionist's name to quote her here, she was wonderful, super helpful and gave me a lot of information. I absolutely loved everything about the hotel. Thank you!

Staying at MEININGER Bruxelles Gare du Midi was awesome! You pay for a hostel, but get a hotel. Very friendly staff helped me a lot (especially Olga) :) Dorm was tiny but clean and with its own bathroom, you also get a card to access the doors. You can use a kitchen and work at any place you find. Also, the location is great - only 3 minutes on foot from the South Station. Although the neighborhood is kinda not-so-good, at Meininger I felt safe and secure. Would stay here again!

One of the best hotels I’ve stayed in! Very clean with new facilities. The en-suite dorm bathrooms were nice and convenient. Only a 25 minute walk to the city center. Would definitely stay here again!

Have stayed in Meininger Hotels before and really liked them then and now. It's great that the room/bathroom is cleaned every day and access to a guest kitchen is great too. The staff were friendly and available. It's not in the centre but it's location right next to the Gare Midi makes the centre very accessible. A train into the centre takes less than 10 minutes and it's also a nice walk. Also, shuttles to Charleroi airport leave from the train station which is great. Also, very comfy beds!

Decent for a hostel, nice bar, good facilities, and close to the station. Ony downsides for me were that the breakfast isn't great if you don't like continental and also it's a good 30-minute walk away from Brussels City Centre.

The hostel is brand new, clean, well decorated. There is a bar, a kitchen, a game room. The rooms are spacious and the staff is friendly and helpful. It is not in the city center, but close to a station that I haven’t even used, because the walk was about 25 minutes only. The only two downsides for me were the absence of a bag locker in the room (the locker they have is too small) and the lack of options in their bar (they don’t allow outside drinks, but don’t offer a lot in the bar)

Had a very pleasant stay here. Bed was comfy. Room was modern. I would say that this hostel isn’t for everyone. Location wise, it is a fair way from all the tourist attractions and sites, a good 20 minute walk. Also, I stayed in a 4 person dorm and it was quite small and v hot on top bunk! There was one toilet and shower between us, some people take a long time in the shower and if you need to go to the toilet you have to wait for them. The bar was nice, drinks were a little pricey.

    Very Good

Good place especially for the price. Staff were a little annoying. I stayed 2 nights and my friend stayed 1 night. They said we couldn’t be in the same room because our stay lengths were different. Later that night, they put someone in my room who was staying one night. Staff also confused which room I was in. Area around the hostel is a little sketch.
