Hostelworld says

In typical Meininger style, their Salzburg City Centre hostel spoils its guests on location. Sited close to the historic old town, you can explore all the city's favourite sights, such as Mozart's birthplace and the Festival Hall, on foot with ease. If retail therapy is your thing, then you're right in Zentrum im Berg, the city's shopping centre. But it's not just the location that makes this hostel great. The bar is the perfect place to meet fellow travellers and bond over a game of pool or table football, and its kitchen helps keep food costs to a minimum.

Property Description

Welcome to MEININGER Hotel Salzburg City Center!

Servus and welcome! Salzburg is the home of the Mozartkugel, the Salzburg Festival and the Old Residence. But up to now there has been one thing missing - the new MEININGER Salzburg City Center. For your convenience, we've sited it close to the historic old town in the 'Zentrum im Berg' shopping centre on the Kapuzinerberg. From here you can easily explore on foot the sights of this 'world-class small town', such as Mozart's birthplace or the Festival Hall.

But you can also enjoy spending time in the hostel - in the morning why not go along to the breakfast room to enjoy our all-you-can-eat-and-drink breakfast buffet for 7,90€. At lunchtime or in the evening - if you've had enough of Salzburger Nockerl - you can make yourself a meal in our guest kitchen and get to know other guests from all over the world. Finish off the evening with a trip to the bar and have another chance to meet new friends. Or enjoy a clear view of the stars from our roof terrace.
The MEININGER is well-known for its unique and relaxed international atmosphere, and here in Salzburg it's combined with a laid-back feeling that is typically Austrian.

In the games room you can defend your honour at pool or table football or show off your singing voice at a karaoke evening. Or maybe you want to chat with your friends on our internet terminals in the lobby? If you've got your own laptop, WLAN is available free-of-charge in all our areas.

If you've been on the road for a while, you can use the washer and dryer in our guest kitchen to freshen up your laundry.

If you've got your skis with you or are using Salzburg as a stopover on your way to the slopes, your gear can be happily ensconced in our ski storage room.

And you can spend the night in a single, double or shared room. We also have a small mixed dormitory and a women-only dormitory. Please note that only people older than 18 years old are allowed to sleep in the dormitories! So that you don't get bored, every room has a TV and its own bathroom with shower and toilet. You can happily leave your bedding at home as at MEININGER it is always included in the price.

Very comfortable hotel hostel. Access to two Apple computers high quality. Nice kitchen. Very friendly atmosphere. Rooms with a good heat and very clean. I brought a friend who was unhappy though. Because he paid 25 for a dorm plus 12 for the parking plus 7,50 for the breakfast. So for him 45 for a bed in a dorm did not worth it. I think for the hostel part to keep a low price would be better. Like a package at 30 max for the bed and parking. The people in his dorm were not great.

Best hostel I've stayed in thus far. Outlet and light in every bed, I was randomly placed in a 4-bed room instead of a 6-bed room, and the place is nice and quiet at night.

A nice place, helpful staff. wifi was sometimes patchy. There are shops nearby and the hotel has goodies like ice-cream which you can buy. If you just want one or two things for breakfast, best to buy from outside but if you eat a big breakfast, the price is worth it. A nicely decorated hotel with a cool themed carpet and balconies.

Met some great fellow travellers, bed was very comfy and the room was a great size for 4 bunk room. Staff were friendly and helpful. Unfortunately there was a lot of young teenagers staying who were loud and also the laundry was out of order which was a shame because o booked specifically for a hostel with laundry capabilities. A positive experience here none the less, would stay again. Salzburg is the greatest😍

Not ideally located, the Meininger is really a hotel more than a hostel. Many families were staying here and there was no backpacker community whatsoever. With that said, I was comfortable and secure and would stay here again.

The location was fine but since we booked a private 2 bed room for the night so we got on the 5th floor, therefore we got our own private balcony and also access to the Terrace which was amazing to view the city. All the staff, atmosphere and security was excellent. However the bed mattress in our room was so so bad that it was liked over-used. I am writing this specific bad because we paid a hefty amount for 1 night and expected that the bed should be comfortable to sleep.
