Very happy with my stay. The host was very welcoming and even took the time to prepare a packed lunch to take hiking up Machu Picchu as I was leaving at 4am. I will forever recommend The Machu Picchu Guest House.

This is a hotel/hostel feeling, you can find people in the common area but it has the hotel feeling. Good beds, Clean, decent breakfast., and tea all day long!!! great stay for a trip to Aguas callientes.

Front desk staff are LOVELY, very helpful with information about getting the bus up to Machu Picchu and back, printed out our actual tickets for the site also and are on the desk all day and night. Brekky was basic, rolls and pastries, ham cheese, cereal, yoghurt tea and coffee, but they serve it from 4.30am for all those early risers! The town is small so you can’t really go wrong with location, bed comfy, plenty of blankets for cold nights, and a hot shower. All in all a win!

Great place if you’re looking for a place to crash. Located very close to the hot springs which was a great bonus. Hot water was excellent and lasted the entire shower! I was lucky to get a mixed dorm room to myself. There are no lockers for your things but it was a safe place.

Good value for aguas calientes, very helpful staff. Location a bit at the top of a hill but still very close to the station and buses. No lockers, but locks on rooms, clean enough but there was a bit of a smell of damp. WiFi was pretty bad in rooms, but breakfast was good and starts at 4:30 if you are up early for machu picchu. Not very social, at least when I was there, but as everyone will be there for machu picchu there is obviously the opportunity to meet others doing the same time slot.

The building was beautiful, staff were lovely. Rooms had comfortable beds and hot water. However, the shower curtain was not long enough for the stall, so the bathroom was constantly soaked, and we couldn't re-use our towels as we had to use them to mop up the floor. I was in a three bed room, but the third bed was butted up against and air duct and had no head board, so there was a gap between the bed and the wall. There was only one outlet. No lockers.

Disgusting hostel and among the worst I've stayed in. Everything smells like mold and is dirty and loud. There are only two bathrooms (also dirty), one of which doesn't even have a latch for the door. The breakfast, price, and location are decent. Overall I'd recommend spending a little more for a more comfortable place.

This property was disgusting.... dramatically worse than anywhere else we stayed in Peru for 3 weeks backpacking. Our room was an upgraded double bed suite with private bath. The view was of garbage and construction, the pillows and comforter had all sorts of weird stains and lint, there was mold all throughout the bathroom, and tape held appliances together. It truly grossed me out! And I’ve stayed in hostels all around the world. The staff was friendly and the breakfast was okay.
