Property Description

The original and most popular hostel in San Gil famous for its helpful Information and a great social atmosphere Macondo continues to rank number 1 in all major guide books. Host of San Gils famous Tejo Tuesdays (local game with explosions) its a great place to meet other travellers and form groups to take on adventure activities.

Relax amongst the mango and papaya trees in one of the best hostel gardens in the country complete with a heated jacuzzi to unwind after a hard day of adventure.

Unlike other hostels in town we don't close our social areas at 6pm and you can enjoy our jacuzzi until 11pm when people most want to use it. Plus you can save money and bring your own drinks to have in the garden.

We have a great selection of board games, direct TV to watch your favourite football team, lockers, kitchen, coffee etc but its the quality of the activities and free information that we give saving our guests money and helping them have the best possible experience that has made us so popular.
With so much on offer in San Gil from so many companies of different standards we help you not waste time and get you on the water, in the air, on 2 wheels or underground with the best guides. Safety is huge or us and we wont recommend anything that I personally havent done myself. View House Rules

Fantastic hostel! Had plenty of activities to join with all the information you needed to make an informed decision. Family dinner and Tejo night was a blast! Would stay again if ever in San Gil!

Great hostel with great staff. We loved the Tejo Tuesday night and we met some fun and interesting people there. One big problem is that there is no drinking water available and San gil can be very hot so you end up creating a lot of plastic waste.

My stay in macondo was amazing. Can't complain about anything. They have every information about any activities you can do in town. And the staffs did everything to make my stay here feel like home. The staffs are amazing and truly care about building a relationship with everyone, Carlito and Sean. The jacuzzi was really nice way to relax after doing some extreme adventures!! I wish there was an outlet in each bed, but it's not a big deal.

Brilliant place to stay for activities and socialising in San Gil. Professional, informative staff always happy to help. Private room at the front was a bit noisy and hot next to the road, but we still loved our stay.

My stay here was only for one night but I had a very good experience. The atmosphere was very sociable which was partly to do with the people staying there but also I think helped by the environment at the hostel. I didn't get to use the jacuzzi but I imagine it would be nice after a day of extreme adventures. Good location close to good food options and not too far from the central Parque La Libertad.

staff were super nice and friendly, but the hostel was absolutely dead- no vibe. I wouldn't stay here again as a solo traveller unfortunately.
