Cool peeps, and I got some good sleep while I was there. The hosts were nice enough to show me a few places around the city and point me in the right direction when I decided to venture out on my own. Wifi is good. Shower gets really hot if you catch it at the right time. Would I stay there again? You bet your sweet bippy I would!

This is the place to stay in Cuenca. You get the peace and quiet restful sleep while it remains very close to the city center. The couple who owns and runs the place are very very lovely and accommodating and I don’t have any single complaints. The wifi are working perfectly and also the bathroom has a perfect temperature of warm water for your shower. Unfortunately, due to Covid there’s no more breakfast but you can use their full kitchen to whatever cooking needs you have.highly recommended!

Awesome guy Andres and his wife Jude were great! Andres drew us a map of cajas that we followed and it was truly a phenomenal hike! The rooms were cozy and quiet despite how close it was to the old town. Highly recommend and I’m sure if you are unsure of your plans, Andres will help you figure out where to go and what to do next! (great english speakers too)

Nice and cosy place with a nice Kitchen. Andres and Jude will make you feel at home, the place is also ideally situated, in a calm area not far from the center.

This hostel is a perfect oasis in the center of Cuenca. The owners both made my stay super special and welcome after a long few weeks of travel throughout Ecuador. Owner even hand wrote a map for my trip to Cajas national park! The location is 100%, 5 mins walk to the city rivers and central area/old town. The facilities are modern and clean, very cool and relaxed atmosphere. Great place to stay, clean, safe, and more importantly the doors are still open during the pandemic!

Overall I had a great stay at Mallki. The owners are both super nice, hospitable and can provide you with a lot of valuable information about the Cajas national park and the city. The hostel is in a regular residential house, so it's small and has a homie feel to it. It's located in a more residential and contemporary part of town however it's a short walk away from the historic. The wifi is fast and reliable. My only complaint is that they don't have any desks to work out of.

Mallki Hostel is located just across the river from the Old City which is really convenient. The staff are generally nice people, however in the middle of the pandemic, I did not see them wearing masks once which made me a little uneasy. I stayed in a private room which was a decent enough size and the private bathroom was okay nothing spectacular. The bed was very uncomfortable, I could feel the springs digging into my back, so beware. There is also no breakfast included, like they advertise.
