Really lovely couple who own this hostel. They were helpful and the place is really clean, cosy and quiet location. Breakfast is the best i"ve had in a hostel (stack of tasty vegan pancakes with a selection of fresh fruits)

Mallki hostel is a great place for a few days checking out Cuenca and especially if you are into hiking the Cajas National Park. Close to the historical center and plenty of restaurants and mini marts, Quiet hostel with great free breakfast, hot water showers, security lockers with power outlets and really helpful staff. Excellent knowledge on Cajas so ask the staff if you are planning to hike and they will even help you out with boots for the muddy periods of the year.

In a quiet street next to the beautiful colegio Benigno Malo, the Mallki welcomes you with a lush garden and inviting patio. Friendly and very helpful staff help you out and show you to the dorm rooms which are well-equipped and, owing to the individual bed curtains, you’re able to gain privacy and rest at any time of the day without being bothered. Large lockers are also available in the bedrooms. Every morning, a delicious fruity pancake breakfast will get you going!

Very social hostel with really friendly staff. Pancake breakfast was also a lovely addition. The beds aren't too comfortable though and the large chains on the lockers mean anyone can reach into them. Despite that I would definitely recommend staying here!

    Fabulous

Great hostel outside of the main hustle of the city. Very easy to meet other people and make plans together. Breakfast is good, and the front garden is great for relaxing or planning out your day. However, the beds are SO loud. The slightest move makes the loudest sounds, which is very annoying when you’re trying to sleep. Also, there is a lack of water pressure when someone is showering, leaving the hostel without water. That being said, I enjoyed my stay and would probably stay here again!

There are positives and negatives to this hostel... Pros: One guy gave great advice on where to go for hiking in Cajas National Park which was nice. Free breakfast is included that consists of pancakes and fruit. Staff is also very nice Cons: Few plugs to be found. The lockers do have plugs in them, but those were the only plugs in our room. Sometimes there can be a wait for one of the two bathrooms. Location is a bit of a walk to the center and not a ton of restaurants close by

    Good

The first impression was not welcoming, cleanliness was poor, wifi cut out for some of the time, the shower was hot yet the water pressure was not strong, the bed was very uncomfortable. On the plus side it's a sociable hostel, the vegan pancakes for breakfast were excellent and some of the staff were friendly and helpful.
