The hostel is simple but clean and very enjoyable. Nati was very helpful organizing our visit to Bahir Dahr. The location is perfect, not far from the centre but very quiet.

Great hostel (WiFi, hot water, rooms, etc) but the best part is Nati and the tours he organizes. I booked Bahir Dar, Simien Mtns, and Danakil through him, and everything was excellent. He’s known throughout the ethiopian tourism sector, and I think the prices were fair. He checked up on me at every stop, and I would definitely recommend going through Nati to get the most out of your trip.

Wonderful hostel. Clean rooms, clean bathrooms, nice garden area. Great location near the lake and restaurants and coffee shops. Very quiet and peaceful. The owner Nati goes out of his way to make your stay easy..He is helpful and knowledgeable but not pushy..I highly recommend this hostel.

Manuhie Backpackers was just what we wanted - pleasant, cheap and well located. However the best thing about it was they were not only able to organise a great tour of lake tana and blue Nile falls BUT also all the other trips we wanted to do in Ethiopia! Even though they were a long way away the owner sorted us a trip to the Simien mountains, the churches of tihray and 4 days on the Danakil - so we could relax for the rest of the trip because it was all sorted. Thanks!

I enjoyed my time staying here. The courtyard is set up so that it’s a place to meet and chat with other travellers (over a beer if you wished) and to relax. The staff are all lovely and helpful and it was easy to arrange day trips etc. Good value for money, this isn’t a hotel so don’t expect that, the rooms are basic (mosquito nets included) and the place is very clean and it does the trick!

    Very Good

Met other backpackers there, seemed to be the place for the backpacking group despite its single rooms and not dorms. Really needs new chairs and a community area. The chairs out front were broken and uncomfortable. Staff was nice. Basic place.

Good - Nice location & setting, good communication and prompt airport pick up. Bad - Bathroom was appalling, the owner is making a lot of cash out of this business (judging by his travels), it’d be good if he could reinvest some back into updating the condition of the shared bathroom. Also coffee isn’t free, this needs to be made clear - the ladies poured endlessly, it wasn’t until we got our bus that they came chasing after us for payment - make this clear! Nile tour = B300 = rip off!

Bathrooms are horribly dirty Flush never worked Hot water doesn't always work Rooms are OK but infested with mosquitos The hostel is full of hustlers trying to sell you tours. The owner even told me its your responsibility if you book a tour with them (so they can't be trusted but yet he lets them in his hostel) Breakfast is outrageously overpriced, and takes 25min to be ready (for 2 eggs and bread..) We found much better hotels near the main church, no need to book.
