Friendly welcoming hostel. A wide range of ages were staying there during our visit - we were there with our 3-year-old and everyone made her feel welcome. We were in a private room with private shower. Used the kitchen a lot - it was always clean and well stocked. Huge deck to eat meals on, overlooking the cliffs. We'd definitely stay there again.

The rating doesn't capture the significant screw up that occurred to me. I paid for a private room but was given a shared room with two young women who were also not expecting to share a room. I was told it was a mix up with the booking company. My recommendation... remember this is a hostel and double check when you book that you will receive a private room, if that is important to you. This was a very awkward situation for all involved.

No Lockers in room No where to charge your phone or lights close to the beds. Mice walking on your head (in the ceiling, but if you are on top bunk bed, they are right on top of you). Light in the washroom tied with the fan... no curfew. Annoying when some get in at every hours or get their phones set up to ring every 10 minutes stating at 6:00 (I know this is not the hotel's fault...) Functional but small kitchen. Nice terrass to sit and eat outside. Great view. Close to hot springs

I Never got there - cancelled due to forest fire that closed highway 93. I think the owners thought at was a wimp for not taking a long highway route around the fire zone. I'm glad I cancelled because the reports about the air quality in the area of the hostel were not good. They agreed to only charge me 50 percent, which I think is reasonable. I just do not like being told that there is something odd about me that I didn't want to drive for lots of extra hours and be exposed to smokey air.

My experience has been terrible. I never stayed in Misty River Lodge. Misty River Lodge called me at the last minute and told that rooms were overbooked and they had to cancel my reservation. This happened even though the websitehad sent me mail that booking was confirmed. I sent mail to the website and Misty River Lodge to return my money. But never received any response. On top of this I received mail from the website to give review for 'my stay at Misty River Lodge'.
