Mojito's hostel is a very comfy place, being at 4 blocks from the beach, and two blocks away from all the Bars and restaurants, the staff was very welcoming and suggested us a lot of great activities to do, will definitely go back!

Mojito hostel was the perfect place to stay to discover Rio! The location was walking distance from the lake and beaches. The staff was so welcoming and friendly, they helped us plan all of our activities and tours. We felt very safe with 24 hour security and were extremely comfortable because the hostel was kept so clean. We didn’t want to leave and are already dreaming of going back!

I booked Mojito Hostel for around 10 days in both a private and dorm room. The rooms and lockers themselves are adequate and, though the breakfast is very simple and the same each day, I heard it was better than in many other hostels in Rio! It seemed more like a hostel for native travellers rather than European or English speakers. The staff were friendly- BIG thanks to Juan who always seemed more than happy to answer questions we had, help us with trips and advice!

This was the first hostel i stayed in on my trip, and overall it was an ok experience. Unfortunately my portuguese is non-existant, and pretty much all of the people staying at the hostels were from Brazil, so it was hard to get a good atmosphere cause of the language barrier (but thats on me too i guess). Good location for ipenema, very near the shops and the beach. It got a little noisey at night as the staff always cooked late at about 10pm, and played music quite loudly. I enjoyed my stay.

Anyone could walk in and out of the hostel during day time. No key or supervision. Location is great but room is really really cramped. About 21 people share 2 bathroom stalls and 2 showers. Also they tried the price during Carnival so for me it was not worth the money.

Very cramped hostel with not much space in the rooms or in the common area. The bathrooms were also very small and not very clean. The breakfast was ok but nothing special. The staff didn’t speak much English and it was hard to communicate and get help from them. They played music really loud in the common area but there was not much of a party.

We had to pay R$ 20,00 for the shower after check out. They dont accept payment in credit card for this value - they didn't said it when we ask about the shower. The female staff is way too rude. Seemed to be in bad mood every time we asked something. My room had a lot of mold spots on the ceiling. The bathroom was way too old, dirty and with mold in every spot. The breakfast was ok, the Brazilian guy that works on the reception was fine as well. But I really dont recomend and wont come back.

We were very disappointed with this hostel. The rooms were cramped, the social areas were carved out of what should have been corridors and were uncomfortable, the bunks were unstable, the kitchen was behind reception and the oven was broken, the water was intermittent at best, and generally didn't work for showers, something the staff were aware of but made little effort to fix. Music was blaring after midnight most nights. Staff weren't helpful and treated the place as their own party spot.
