The staff are cool, calm and collected. Very knowledgeable people. The place was awesome, excellent decor. My only complaint is the desert room doesn't have blackout curtains like the other rooms so you'll wake up with the sun. Maybe tighten the doorknob to the room so it feels a little more secure. Other then that I'll be staying here the next time I visit Reno.

Wonderful people! It was a home away from home and a great place to decompress after that thing in the desert. The communal atmosphere of the hostel was comfortable and inviting.

The downstairs lounge and kitchen were dirty and it is by a homeless shelter so there's a large homeless population in the area. But the staff was super friendly, the rooms were clean, and it was right in the middle of a bunch of local bars and a 3 minute drive from the major casinos. Each room was decorated by a different artist, so the whole hostel had an eclectic and artsy feel. I would stay here again.

As a member of the Black Rock City community, I have to say that I am thoroughly disappointed with the people who are staffed at the Morris. In particular, the Al character is a terrible resemblance for radical inclusion. Long story short, I and my husbands bubbles were burst when Al informed us that we were "not going to be able to extend your stay!" When asked why,he stated that we were not allowed to have non-members as guests. AL-- your own ideas about who's worthy is a violation of BRC!

You book for a price and after that they tell you that you must be member and they charge you a higher amount because of the obligatory inscription. That was dissappointing.

Super funky place -- I like hostels, and maybe I've been traveling for business with a credit card for awhile, but there's a lot to be improved at the Morris Burner Hostel. For example--steam radiator is non functional, but there was a very small electric heater that I plugged into the one outlet in the room. Hot water trickled and never got hot. An extra blanket would have been nice and made up for the broken heater. Nice lighting would make a huge difference in the way this place feels.

Booked a 4 bed dorm and they put us in a couples room, then after I realised they charged us more for that? Annoying as we just wanted the cheapest room. Staff were friendly but that was off putting. Location is awful, next to a homeless shelter and hundreds of homeless people along the street, makes it feel quite unsafe and it’s not nice to be shouted at when you walk out the door. Got woken up a couple times by shouting outside. It’s clean, & facilities are good but location ruins it sorry!
