Really great place to stay in Kyoto! Nice to experience a traditional ryokan stay. The beds were a bit thin but that’s all part of the experience! The noise also does carry from room to room. Overall I would recommend this place to stay! Staff were very helpful and nice :)

    Fabulous

We had a really nice stay here for 2 nights. We wanted to have a 'ryokan' experience, and although this isn't a traditional ryokan, it provided a similar feel. They provided a nice booklet with instrutions about the facilities and surrounding activitines which was very helpful and cute and it was in English. It wasn't super close to anything but it wasn't super far away either. Abot 15 minutes from Kyoto station and 20 minute drive from Gion district. Pretty affordable and they have bike rentals

    Fabulous

I wanted to provide my daughters with an authentic experience. They were excited about staying in Ryokan and “sleeping on the floor”. The bedding was comfortable and cozy. We had an onsuite room. The shower was wonderfully hot. We rented towels for 100¥ apiece. The heating worked very well (once we figured it out). The walk to Kyoto main train station is maybe 10min Max. Once we got our barrings, it was easy. There are many coffee shops within a few blocks. Very nice stay.

A nice place to stay in Kyoto. The price was rather high for such a small little room, but it was cozy and quaint.

I booked this hostel, even though there were similarly priced hotels nearby, because I wanted to meet travellers. However it's not really setup to meet people. Also the rooms were quite musty (and smelly) and the walls a bit too thin. Actually I left a night early as it was hard to sleep given the conditions. I was going to mention this to the staff but the person available couldn't speak much english so I thought it was better to just tell them I was leaving early.
